Eng vs India - First Test - 20th-24th June

Tongue must be one of the most ungainly cricketers I’ve seen in a while.

Seems to have all the mobility of a 50 year old bloke.

There was a boundary which he chased down about 15 minutes ago which he really didn't chase down at all, it was bizarre  he looked like he just gave up on it when a bit of added effort and he would have saved it.

What was the thinking in putting them in?
Based on stats. Last six times inserting first has won at Headingley

It has moved a bit but the Indians have played too well so far

They put a graphic earlier about how in recent tests here the first day averaged wickets around 26 then it progressively grows as the days go on

I still fancy a draw here personally

You can understand why they might have thought about putting them in based upon that, but sometimes you need to look at what it is in front of you. Glorious warm day, dry flat pitch and you have an inexperienced bowling attack. That's before we go into potentially facing Bumrah, Jadeja and Siraj on a day 5 pitch.
