Local rag trying to sell him to their lot 😂

Tbf its not thsts he a bad coach its just they'll need 3 transfer windows just to get players to suit his style of play.

Weird one as I bet Gibson sacks him this season 🤣

Mods, can we move this into the fizzy pop tinpot league section please?

If we can't flush this?

Maybe we can take it "off topic"?

;)

Instead of being about SAFC?

Maybe some of the Boro fans could actually post about Middlesbrough FC?

You know?
You're getting a new manager.
A new coach.
A set piece specialist.

Do you have a good feeling about these possible appointments?
Do you see this as a sign that the owner is taking more of a back seat and letting the football people run the football side?
Is this a sign that he might be thinking about letting go of the club?
How tough do you think the championship might be next season?
Given how hard it might be to get promoted would you be happy with a transition season and selling off some assets to build?

I think hackney will go. Can't see Aziz going though.

If hackney stays then he's got a questionable mentality as there 2 seasons ar least from a serious promotion challenge

No.
You're so desperate.to be hated.

Your promotion was well deserved.
But, folk go on on here as if you're Man City.
The cockiness is a bit silly - seeing as you haven't even kicked off next season yet.
Far too much cockiness. Agreed. Next season is going to be tough at best, demoralising second and very possibly, embarrassing.

I'm sure we'll give it a go " 'til the end" but I for one don't feel in the slightest, cocky. I'm so proud and elated by the manner in which we won the play-offs, but that team will be lucky to accrue 12 points next season. Loads of work needed in the transfer market.

Bit of a odd assumption that.
You only have to look at Ipswich (and yourselves) to see things can easily change.
From finishing 16th and most on here being full of doom and gloom, to promotion within a year.

Aye.
Folk on here think it's just sour grapes and jealousy from me but it's not.
You deservedly did the double over us and your good start held you in good stead to keep your place on the play offs.
You went up.cos you deserved to.

I can understand the 'crowing' - it's a big thing you've achieved and I'd say (although difficult) you do have a chance of staying up - at least you're in there.

I'm just saying that SOME are sounding a bit ott, especially slagging other clubs off just because they get small attendances and have a not so illustrious history.

Ipswich and us had momentum and didn't alter the playing style.

Both of those dont apply to boro.

Even with 5 solid signings you'll be too lightweight to play direct football to a playoff standard even you must see that

Ipswich had momentum yes, but had just come up from league one.
Where was your momentum?
Hadn't you sank like a stone (from play off contenders to almost flirting with relegation)?

Things can easily change in football - get off to a decent start and the momentum can carry you along - just like it did for you.

Aye tenth wasn't great, and our form from Christmas onwards was shocking, but people forget that if we'd beaten Cov on that last day we would've been in the playoffs (scraped in admittedly).

On the subject of signings, it all depends on who comes in and how they settle to however the new head coach wants to play.

Similarly with yourselves next season - not necessarily the most EXPENSIVE signings but players that will perform.
It could go either way, for us and for you.

We had been in playoffs and were still in contention when Beale took over.

You haven't been in playoffs for 3 seasons now.

We had the bulk of a playoff standard squad, boro dont.

Of course thsts momentum as look what happened this season with a capable manager. Despite losing two of our best players

You were in play off contention when Beale took over yes, but you then sank like a stone, so the momentum was gone.

We've missed out on the play offs the last TWO seasons, and were in contention in both seasons right to the end

So, you lost two of your best players - we haven't lost anyone yet, and we do have a squad of decent players.
Strengthened in a couple of areas and the confidence would soon grow.

Don't think we've appointed anyone yet (as manager/head coach), so it's a bit premature to say whoever we appoint won't be 'capable'.

Anyhow - no point in going round in circles, you have your opinions, i have mine.
It'll all come out in the wash - hardly life changing however things turn out (for either club).

You've got Micah back from his loan too.

I think the league will be stronger this season. I can't see any of the relegated sides doing a Luton. Those 3 and Sheffield will be strong. Coventry improved greatly after Lampard arrived. Brum and Wrexham could hit the ground running too.

I just can't see you doing much. You were poor last season. You nearly made the play offs because other teams choked.
