SOL expansion

If they’d left away fans in the south stand We would get the capacity back , or NW corner.
Don’t think we would. Those areas require segregation either side of the away fans. Currently, it only requires segregation one side because on the other it’s a giant metal wall. What we need is to just reopen the balcony area, which we used to have open in the Prem years. That in theory would allow for a bigger capacity than if they were in the lower bowl.

Yeah, that's about 10 days out of every 4000 or so.
trade events, business lunches, charity events, award ceremonies, recruitment drives, tours, community events, concerts, other sporting events, ladies football, youth football, county cup finals etc..

theres endless uses of a football stadium both on the pitch and especially in the corporate areas

I’m as ambitious as the next SAFC fan but the idea of extended the ground is mental at this stage to be honest. If we’re selling it out over a say 2-3 year period then fair enough but not now. Appreciate that’s what you’re getting at. I just wouldn’t have it high up on list of priorities. Playing squad first at the moment undoubtedly.

Hope so, I’d like to think we are at a position now where we were in 2001, when the squad needed serious investment but we’d blown it on extending the ground.

We have a seemingly clean slate to push on and go for it this season, I’m just hoping we don’t do what the promoted/relegated shitters have done in the last 2/3 years and fail to put up a fight.

Despite years of posting, still nee idea how to upload a picture. But with a bit of ChatGPT help on the commute, I think the south stand redevelopment and expansion for the champions league is sorted as well as a new avatar

This is it. It’s not good for football if this keeps up with the three promoted sides tanking. It’ll just turn more people off the PL.

TBF mate, it was shit having them in South Stand when the oppo scored.
I did think it wud be best to have them up top out of the way, as big followings can make a difference sometimes, and having them at pitch level wasn't advantageous for us. And little things help .
However, the throwing of missiles etc can't be ignored, and they need to be given a corner, like Boro and Hull do.
Anyone who has to move, should be offered a big discount out for the next five seasons to dull their pain at moving.
But don't FFS, have them directly behind the goal. The scum cup game showed why.

Could even be used by film studios being built for certain scenes

None of which need an extension to host.
Fire Station capacity looks small for that to me, by the time you add one student and two parents. But there you go
They're running 3 graduation groups per day this year rather than the usual 2. It's still at the stadium but I think they're trialling smaller groups.
University graduation? Although that seems a bit early.
July for graduations.
University graduation is done at the Fire Station now
There's one more at the stadium of light next month.
