Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

I might be jumping to conclusions here, but I presume the bridge has been designed by qualified engineers who know they're doing.

Even after that they'll have fed it into computer modelling software to see how much stress it can take before it breaks.

The bridge will be more than strong enough with strength to spare.
Agree mate…..of course.
Having said that the amount of stress the average Sunland supporter carries away from games is well beyond anything a computer model can imagaine.

Treatments such as lobotomy and electro-convulsive therapy were the order of the day in the 17C. I think we have moved on. At least I hope we have.

I worked in one of the last psychiatric centres in the states that performed it (and lobotomies) regularly. Key word is reguarily. The truth is it hasn't gone away. It's just far more controlled

I'll be calling it Keel Crossing, why would people not use its proper name?
They might but whilst its the most popular choice out of the options chosen by the council..they didnt provide us with a list of all the suggestions put forward from the public so we dont know if it was a fair choice overall...these things are fluid and i just think the sol will be used somewhere in the description when most use it in the language of the future.....

Undeepasses are generally avoided unless absolutely necessary these days. It's 1970s thinking to prioritise the movement of motor traffic. The at-grade crossings are the right idea.

Half an hour of temporary traffic management with stewards after the game wouldn't be the worst idea though.
Used to have coppers on the roundabouts getting away from Roker way back..... 2 cops on that crossing for 20 mins would do.
