Man City - 115 Charges

In my opinion.
Never has one relegation had such an impact on an English League football club.
I mean 1st Division club.

Obviously Bradford losing their place in the league in 1970 effectively finished them.

Much of that is on us like and our general incompetence. At the end of the day we were fined 5k quid and 3 directors were expelled and one player temporarily suspended.

It’s hardly to blame for 70 years of ineptitude. If city came out with a fine and some suspensions the world will be up in arms at how lightly they’ve gotten away

I wonder if City have spent a lot recently because they are expecting to be hit with a long transfer ban. The last few windows has been a bit more like the early city days when they'd buy 5/6 players for big money. They've switched their focus to younger players too which may be them planning for having a few windows without signings.

if imagine let Man City and newcastle use thier spending powers that put pressure on the rest of the premier league, championship, league 1, league 2, non league clubs to spend more more financially and eventually they will dry and fold clubs especially to non league clubs will fold in the next 10 years sadly. No more FA cup games etc. FA react and change the rules to ensure its fair for everyone. Man city continued breaking the rules, thats why they were bieng investigated. They corrupted, f***ing wankers they are.

That is my interpretation too. We have just been promoted but I still think we have spent 68 years in the doldrums, courtesy of the FA/Football League.
We’ve poked our heads above the parapet a couple of times in recent history

1999-2001 we were on the brink of something good, and with the players at Bruce’s disposal (Gyan, Henderson, Zenden, Malbranque, Bent…) we should’ve boxed a bit cleverer with the platform that gave us

IF we stay up next season we could have a similar platform to build on.

Even through we’re now in it I hate everything the PL & state owned clubs represent.

Football is fucked.
Same, I was really hoping the mega rich clubs would fuck off to a boring as hell euro super league and the rest of the clubs can reset and create a competitive and enjoyable football league structure, with a fair distribution of money.

I have had season after season full of hope. I really pray that this time it will happen...mainly because my time is running out. I'd love to turn up my toes while Sunderland are at the very top .
It might be too dangerous to hold my breath!

I wish this could be a sticky but Everton and Forest admitted guilt, Everton admitted it and still had 40k pieces of evidence for 1 single charge. Man city have more than 115 charges, denying them and throwing the best and most intelligent people at it so its taking forever, especially as the PL are ran be idiots.

I'm not saying city are innocent and should be let off but the amount of comparisons between the two are completely wrong as apart from them being football clubs there really isn't anything else similar.
I don’t agree mate - the comparisons are there for every layman to see.

Why did they muddy the waters and charge Man City with 115 things if they knew they had no capacity to uphold or investigate them in any reasonable time scale!? Why did they not charge them with 1 thing that they knew would stick and be upheld within weeks, for example like they did with everton with an absolute laser focus (and threatened further charges in subsequent seasons).

The comparisons are there

Well it certainly hasn't stopped them from spending mega money...

Because everyone was cut and dry, they overspent, said yes we overspent and then took 40k pieces of evidence to try and get the punishment down. With City they are claiming to have more than 115 charges (another thing that everyone seems to get wrong) but city are denying them all. It’s like asking why somebody in court gets dealt with quicker when admitting to theft over the person who is denying murder. Just because it may take years doesn’t mean you should charge them, since the city case the PL (who are just the clubs within) changed the rules so any charge had to be dealt with in a timely manner.

The cases are completely different, but people look at headlines and start repeating them when they are wrong. The fact that people can’t get how many charges they are facing correct is the prime example of this.

The comparisons are both are football clubs, that’s the end, no similar charges, no similar defence, no similar amounts of evidence.

If they are found guilty then nobody within City who knew should be involved in football or business. The main case(s) are around fraud which is serious not like Everton who just overspent then tried to blame it on their stadium.

why no verdict yet? Back in March they seemed to be saying it was weeks away. Nowt.
Who said that? Leaks and press making stuff up more than likely. The KC’s involved wouldn’t say a date or timeframe surely?

How old are you mate ?

Sadly the only end in sight is this. They can't enforce things and eventually state owned clubs will just dominate and break the League. Only then (when it becomes pointless) will interest die and slowly the corrupt parties leave and somewhere in the distant future we overhaul the League and start over.

Be funny if they got docked 100 points at the start of next season, could keep us up 😂
Even if found guilt City will appeal. That will take us, probably, to next season at the very earliest.
I expect
1. A huge fine that, to City, will be a pittance.
2. The biggest points deduction on record but not enough to relegate them.
At least one of the above. Possibly both so the league can say how heavily the punish cheating.
That is, of course, if they are actually guilty of any of the charges.

It's only a verdict to be announced. Guilty or not guilty. City won't be hit by any sort of punishment for months potentially years yet given they'll have the right to appeal the verdict.
Nothing will happen. It's breaks things. Other clubs will sue City over lost earnings, lost European places, lost co-effiecient rankings in seasons gone, relegations and so on and it all falls down into chaos.

Other Premier League clubs cant sue Man City. As part of their registration with the Premier League, they agree to Premier League Rule X (Football Association clause K) which means they have to agree to arbitration.

Even if they could, the hearing started back in September and legally clubs had to start legal proceedings through the PL or FA against them within 6 years of the breach against them. That deadline has well and truly gone given the majority of the charges go back to 2018.

Clubs have looked into suing others when things haven't gone their way. Take when Sheffield United tried to claim against West Ham for instance with the signings of Tevez and Mascherano. Fuck all happened.
