Lommel SK - Lee Johnson

Little Lee is quite a likeable fool but how he keeps getting these jobs is beyond me. He tends to fail every time and has achieved nowt in his career. He is well thought of by himself, his agent and whoever is being paid to peddle this 'highly thought of' nonsense. Surely to be 'well thought of' you need to do well in your job. Or is nonsensical platitudes enough these days?
Without him breaking our Wembley losing streak would we be where we are today? Streaky managed to start off a Wembley winning streak!

Little Lee just sounds very condescending. Thought he did quite well with us. We were top of the league a couple weeks before he left us. A breath of fresh air after the Parky era. Also won our first game at Wembley in almost 50 years.

He was rubbish and it was meant to be condescending. He basically fannied about for a couple of seasons with us with a good squad. He was rightly sacked and it took Alex Neil three months to sort it out and get us promoted. It was a disgrace that we were in League One for four seasons and if you think him failing to get us up is doing 'quite well' then lets end the argument now. After he left us he went to Hibs and was rubbish and then Fleetwood and was rubbish. The bloke has been well and truly found out and yet still gets jobs and because he knows what POMO is and what position 'the horse whisperer' is he seemingly fools fans that he knows what he was doing. If Lee Johnson had remained at the club we'd be in L1 still. The likes of Alex Neil, Tony Mowbray and Regis Le Bris are all basically in a different profession.

As I said above, with him we'd still be in L1 now. That was his only job, to get us promoted and that was beyond him. He's had over 500 games as manager and has no promotions on his CV. Alex Neil, who did have promotions on his CV, showed him how the job was supposed to be done. I don't dislike the lad but think the job of manager or head coach is way beyond him, yet he keeps fooling owners.

Quick out of the block with the passion, but you are quite right. Anyone who did not get us out of L1 with our squad should have taken a hard look at themselves.

Look at the players he had in L1 before he was sacked - Stewart, Batth, Cirkin, Hume, Clarke, Roberts, Pritchard, Neil and others. We should have been running away with league and yet we were scratching about and suffering 6-0 defeats. People say he did 'quite well' and yet, looking at those players I have listed in L1 shows that he was probably the most underperforming managers we've ever had.

He’d just won manager of the month and we were top at Christmas iirc.

In for a treat, real Madrid between both the boxes, then it's real Madras of the Birmingham Sunday league beyond that. They've landed the English Will Still, good on them.

Anyone with a front four of Clarke, Stewart, Pritchard and Roberts would have got us promoted from that league. We were 2 points off the top when he left. Johnson was well on the way to getting us promoted. The side actually had a better points per game ratio with Johnson than after he left. Neil finished in a worse position than Johnson was when he was sacked.

Poor Lee, eh? He should have run away with the league with that squad. That squad were just thumped 6-0 by Bolton. He has never got a team promoted in 500 games and there's a reason. Are you his agent?

Clarke played 38 minutes under Johnson.
Roberts played 24 minutes under Johnson.
Batth played 2 games.

The thing is he didn’t have that squad. Do some research.

Regardless, he was scratching about with a good squad of players. As someone else pointed out we lost 4-0, 5-1, 6-0 to Pompey, Rotherham and Bolton that year. The worst results in our history. I'm not sure why people talk him up. Especially as the club sacked him in our 4th unacceptable season in L1 and then got promoted. It was the correct decision. He did a similar job at Bristol City but much worse at Hibs and Fleetwood. He's just not very good.

He barely had Roberts, Clarke and Batth. Cirkin, Hume and Neil were all just breaking through as raw youngsters. Maybe give him some credit for developing their careers.

He was sacked 2 points from the top of the league having just signed 3 quality players that he couldn’t benefit from. He correctly refused to sign Defoe which led to his sacking along with the 6-0 defeat. Harsh to judge him on promotions alone when Hibs were in the top flight and Oldham & Bristol City weren’t expected to challenge for promotion.

He’s really shown since he left us what we missed out on hasn’t he ??

Bristol City invested in his team to at least get in the playoffs but that was beyond him, hence his dismissal. I think he's a poor manager/head coach hence his last four sackings and his general lack of achievement. I am continually amazed that he gets these jobs. He may be a decent one on one coach but lacks when he's number one. You disagree and that's fair enough.
Btw, you didn't used to be the poster Summerbee, did you?
