Chris Wilder

TBF I do think either the whole league should have VAR or it shouldn't be used at all, including the playoffs.

Having said that, everyone knew the rules going into the game, it's not unfair, it was the same for both sides.
I think it's fair enough to use it in the final tbh. Implementing it throughout the league would presumably be a massive cost, especially as you get some pretty small clubs who come up from league one and might only last a season. I'm sure it's been mentioned that it's costing us about £1m to install everything we need, but then there's obviously ongoing costs. That's not easy to mandate in a league that is hardly awash with money outside the parachute teams.

But for the final you're in a ground that obviously already has everything it needs, it's very low cost, it isn't unfair to any other teams in the league if the two finalists have VAR for a match. And what it should, in theory, do is make sure that a match which can be absolutely crucial for the whole financial outlook of a club, isn't decided by a dodgy goal. The money at stake, the way it can alter a clubs whole trajectory, it makes complete sense to have it in the final.

If we'd lost because of that second goal we'd currently be losing even more of our first team, would be desperately trying to replace them, and we'd know that another three well funded teams are dropping in. That would have been utterly unfair, much more unfair than the right decision being reached in a final.

Weren’t they after MePham & Ballard

Despite recently triggering a one-year extension with the Cherries, it was revealed that Sheffield United entered the race for Mepham. The Blades have been joined by newly-promoted Burnley and Sunderland in the race for his signature, which threatened to throw a spanner in the works for Chris Wilder.

A proper dinosaur football-wise. Not sure if he was responsible for the signings of Cannon and Brereton Diaz but the pair of them were awful.

That coupled with him dropping his arse as the game went on at Wembley and it was time for him to go.

Spot on. Sheff Utd and co moaning and groaning about VAR cos they didn't get to beat us with an offside goal. I don't get all the whinging about VAR in our game anyway, it's been used in every play-off final in all three leagues since 2022 but people are going on as if it had just been chucked into our game this year for a laugh. I wonder if there'd have been so much discussion about it if the decision had gone the other way and Sheff U went on to win

I’ve always found him to be a dignified gentleman. He does a lot of work for charity. Uses his own precious time to sign autographs that are sold on for worthwhile causes. Doesn’t mind getting cramp signing them.

92 points, 1 poor week (3 games cost them promotion), first time top 2 teams both got 100 points.
Why would you sack him?
Because owners have thought that they should have gone up this season.
Tbh, with player sales, I don't think they will go up next season either

Not saying he’s a bad manager cos he isn’t. Just seemed to start going on like a knob years ago and hasn’t stopped. Him singing with the fans slagging off Sheff Wed isn’t very fitting of a current manager is it?
