SOL expansion

Definitely not big enough in that scenario. It only takes a few months to extend though, I think they'll do it if the demand is there.

I think they'll move away fans first and create an extra 2k capacity immediately and for pretty much free first though.

Agreed.

If the safety team weren’t so anal and only left a few seats between home and away, we’d get more in now.

We don’t need the most room in my opinion mate, another 8 k like the north upper would be just right, and also it’s easier to link corporate with the West stand.
Yeah that's a fair point about the West stand and sounds like a sensible first step if and when it happens - but the East stand would have the biggest capacity for change given the car park etc. behind.

You could literally build a purpose build corporate section outside of the east stand, with varying levels of bars/service etc, and plonk the seats on top of the east stand to mirror the PC.

Away fans will sell out more often this year. Don’t think they be many with poor away fans maybes Fulham and Brentford?

A city skyline view (I realise we're hardly Manhattan) corporate section would be a decent selling point too. Negative being the behind goal pitch views. Capacity wise, the extra 7k capacity a SS extension would bring would be a lot less OTT than an East Stand extension.

Absolutely useless/pointless for gigs though, which has been touted as a big driver.

Actually that's a good point about the gigs as the group/individual normally sets up at that end.

Aye the gigs point is a fair one, although the anfield expansion is as behind the goal and dosent seem to have made any difference to there ability to host the big gigs (im not certain if the stage is the kop end though?).

I would say you could still use conference facilities but obviously not the boxes if you went down that route.
What does the PC hold?
Circa 5k.

Don't need more seats. Its not like we've ever routinely sold out match after match, even at what are reasonably low prices.
We do need more facilities. Extensions on the concourses.

Possibly better corporate too, but I would just be guessing there.

Exactly. We’d need to be selling out for years and years first off to even consider any kind of expansion. In the SoL’s near 30 years we haven’t sold out that regularly, overall.

Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley and Crystal Palace will struggle to sell out.

If it’s a midweek game, these clubs will be doing well to bring anywhere near a 1000.

We'll average 45k'ish this season i reckon, given the weird capacity reductions.
Yeah. There will be single seats dotted all over the place that they'll struggle to sell even with demand. They really needed to move away fans elsewhere.
Are there many midweek games in the premier league though?
5 midweek rounds.
Circa 5k.
An East Stand/NE corner extension mirroring the opposite side would add roughly double that to the capacity.

They need to solve the single seats issue tbf. Why the system has allowed season tickets to be bought that leave a single seat is daft, but they just need to move people along the row to sort it. Would only mean you move 2 or 3 seats at most.

They need an expansion mainly for corporate offerings but if you are paying all that money to do the work you'd be mad to not do bigger concourses/more seats at the same time. Phil Smith seemed to suggest the club have a new 5 or 10 year plan to make us an established prem club and that point we would need much larger coroporate capacity as well as probably more normal seats.

Wouldn't surprise me if the club looks to expand the east stand next summer.
10 year !
