SOL expansion

Never known a fan base that wish to hold the club back cos they’re scared we might be shite again. Luckily the club don’t think that way
Haway man do you not think any of this talk at this stage is a bit premature. Say, and I hope I’m wrong obviously, we get relegated and this time next year have a season in the Championship coming up, and we’re back to crowds of around 40k. Do you not think we’d maybe look at all the diggers outside the ground and South Stand without a roof getting a new tier added on, thinking we maybe jumped the gun a bit? It isn’t holding the club back at all, it’s being realistic and making sure there is sustained demand for it which will only come over time. I’d love nowt more, but it’s about timing. Let’s face it many of the ones scrambling for season tickets now would likely be the first to wrap theirs in again if that scenario which I hope doesn’t happen, did happen.

If we can stay up then don’t see why not to have bigger stadium though it’s a must that we are in premiership

I honestly don't get where the idea of this comes from. Improvements to the existing stadium amd offer is what is needed. Need a good few seasons with being sold out etc. before considering anything else imo.

Must be an idiot then. At this present moment in time the Stadium IS too small. And don’t get me started on the need to expand with regards to attracting the biggest gigs etc. Look around the country and you’ll see most clubs looking to make their stadium bigger and improve hospitality. There’ll be times this season where it’s sold out but there was demand for thousands more who can’t see the game. This is just off the back of getting promoted so if we have success what’s it going to be like then ? Some people need to start seeing the bigger picture.

Stadium maybe in places (corporate and facilities) but not capacity overall for me. You could have some difficult decisions to make in places as well of we were to do this.

Don’t think anybody has suggested not exploring expanding in that scenario, if the place is being sold out regularly. I’d counter argue the ones wanting us to extend on the back of one promotion when we don’t know what the future will hold, need to consider the bigger picture. We weren’t even consistently selling out last time in the Premier League, and I know we were abysmal then and football crowds on the whole seem up now compared to then, but all the ones not for it at the moment are saying is it’s a bit premature. Let’s see how things go. Rather money be invested into the team that can help sustain us as a top flight club and improve our hospitality offerings (many now out of date) and other facilities, but I don’t think we need more capacity than what we already have for now.

Agree it’s bizarre behavior.

We need to be maximising our USP and Thsnks to sir bob we can extend relatively cheaply and easily.

We simply have to get the kids into the SOL to counter the sportswashing up the road to secure our support for generations to come. It’s great to see the number of kids at the SOL let’s build on it even more.

Sir bob got plenty criticism from our knowledge support when he planned a 42,000 stadium when our average attendance was 18,000.

Hopefully our owners have the same ambition as Sir Bob rather than some of our more negative supporters.

how about we spend the money to ensure we can compete and be stable in the PL first? The challenge next season is immense. The size of the stadium is not currently a part of that challenge

We need a few years in the prem to justify expanding the stadium, if we get relegated next season we'll be back around the 38k average again in the championship.

It's clear that if things are going well the sol isn't big enough based on how quick the st's have sold in the last couple of days alone. But we'd need a team that is comfortable in the premier league and not is a constant relegation battle to make us consider expanding the ground imo.

We don’t need an increase in seating capacity but from an income standpoint and especially non-football related income we need to improve the stadiums facility.

First years money from the Champions League should be earmarked.

I hope we get it expanded before the Champions League - could just pre-earmark.
