Best/Worst Ground You've Been To

It's also far too small, with matches constantly oversubscribed; doesn't really have much charm or aesthetic; and we have a f***ing woeful record there going back years :lol:
I will give you the cans for the garage mind ;)
(Plus I had to show I wasn't just choosing Beckenham to have a pop at K*nt!)
 

The Rose Bowl is completely inaccessible. On a par with the AMEX for complete lack of visitor convenience.

I enjoyed my trip to Hove. Horsham is a simple pleasure.

Going way back when, Sheffield I have fond memories of, I dunno why. It was fifty years ago.
 
I've visited 7 of the county grounds so far but I'm now on a mission to visit all the main grounds around the counties.

I've Worcester and Canterbury booked this month and Brighton in July which will all be first time visits.

Northants I really like. I find it very quaint and characterful. There's a great view from the Turner stand there. Lords is another favourite.

I need to do Northants. It’s only an hour away but I’ve not got round to it yet. I almost went down to watch Durham in the Blast last season, can’t remember why I didn’t in the end. Would prefer to watch a CC match there though.

Another underrated one is Grace Road. I normally go down there a couple of times a year. There’s a lovely old building in the corner of the ground that has a nice cafe on the first floor. Decent food and massive windows so you can follow the cricket at the same time.
 
Derby's County Ground is a cold and miserable place even on a sunny day and with the honourable exception of the lovely old pavilion I really cant get away with Old Trafford.
I also can't stand Gosforth.

Scarborough on a sunny day is glorious if you can put up with the locals and the chance of the sea fret arriving. Although lacking in facilities, the all round views from the seats on top of the pavilion roof at The Grange in Edinburgh are superb.

Such a nice ground Scarborough, its a travesty the club pulled out of the Yorkshire Premier this year . Clifton is a nice ground on the York site . I only watch league cricket so cant comment beyond Headingly and CLS.

I went to a ODI there a few years ago. There was a free shuttle bus to/from Hedge End train station which was canny going there but had a massive wait to get on on the way back. When you did eventually get back to the train station after the game there was no extra trains on (one an hour in the evening and no extra carriages). The small suburban platform was absolutely rammed too, dangerously so imho considering they use the live third rail on that line.

The next time we went we hired a minibus.

Always had a soft spot for Guildford as I lived near the ground when I first moved south in the 90s. Some decent pubs nearby too.

Surrey become my adopted southern county to support. They had a great team back then - Stewart, Thorpe, Younis...

The Oval would get my vote as my favourite test ground and I’m with pretty much everyone else in putting the Rose Bowl bottom.

I’ve never been particularly impressed with any of the non—test HQs. Worcester looks pretty but being a lake for half the season doesn’t help. I’d probably go for Taunton, even though it’s a bit higgledy-piggledy.

Of the few remaining out grounds, I have never really got the love for Scarborough, even before the piss take robbing prices of this season. What the OP sees as “old fashioned charm” has crossed the line into decrepit. You shouldn’t be getting splinters in your arse in the 21st century. And you certainly shouldn’t be paying over 30 quid for the privilege. Chesterfield is much nicer. I’ve never been to Arundel or Cheltenham, but they look pretty good on TV. As to the worst, South North for me, although I might be letting my bias about it being in bloody Northumberland influence me!
 
For Durham I enjoyed watching up the ropery lane ground and down the Darlington ground

Nothing fancy just old school viewing in a pleasant environment

I’ve never been lucky enough to go to any of the major test grounds or county grounds

Never know I might just be able to in the time I’ve got left
.

Just remembered I had a great time watching a game at Ashbrooke between a Windies XI and Pakistan XI

Ended in a tie

I know off topic but watching amateurs playing in the ground below Bamburgh Castle takes you away from the worlds problems

I found out on Sunday that my dad played at the Seat Unique stadium in Bristol in 1955 for Bristol University against Gloucestershire second XI. I've managed to find the scorecard on the cricket archive as well. Great bowling figures 12-4-19-2 plus he saw them over the line for the win when batting.
 
I like Headingley, appreciate many won't.

Oval was great for the 1/4 final last year, even if the result wasn't what we all wanted.

I wasn't particularly fussed by Trent Bridge but have only been the once. As others have said, Queens Park (Chesterfield, Derbyshire) is absolutely stunning for an outground, very small pitch though.
