Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Also, imagine having one of our players going to the world cup in 12 months time, how big a difference is that from 5 yrs ago.
I'd not thought of this until I saw that he'd been picked for the weekend. Poor overall team performance by England against lesser opposition but he did nothing wrong - he's clearly still got it.

Yeah I'm not privy to anything but I think we'll probably see things start to move after tomorrows England game. Perhaps to even soften the jobe announcement
Hope it does .
His value to us as a club on and off the pitch would be immense.
Just watched that video of his dad and how proud is of his son
Know that feeling nothing beats it .

Fingers crossed he wants to come back and then also a deal can be done.

Im not going to count it as a done deal, I done this when Quinny tried to bring Phillips back and after a bit of a chase he turned us down in favour of West Brom and I was gutted.

Not that it is any of our business but I also love abit of gossip, is his lass from Sunderland and/or the surrounding area?

This post will get a lot of abuse - probably personal and no doubt slagged stating I am clueless and then others joining in with the abuse to impress others -

But just putting this out there.....

The idea of Jordan Henderson returning to us, does tug at the heartstrings — local lad coming home to finish his career where it all began. But football isn’t won on sentiment, and right now, we have to think with our heads, not our hearts. Given the pace and physicality of the modern game, bringing Henderson back now would be a risky move.

He’s 35(when season starts), and while that age doesn’t mean finished, it does mean his peak years are behind him. The role of a midfielder these days demands constant energy — pressing, tracking back, driving play forward — and let’s be honest, Henderson’s not hitting those levels anymore. (name a sitting DM in today's modern game, and you'll be hard pressed to name one who isn't surrounded by world class talent)

Towards the end of his time at Liverpool and during his stint in Saudi Arabia (and that level is way way below even the Championship I'd say), the legs don’t move like they used to, and the pace has dropped.
Sure, his experience and leadership would be good around the dressing room — that’s not in question. But on the pitch?

That’s where the concern is. Under RLB, especially in recent weeks, with his tactical tweaks, If the high press becomes the blueprint again, He might find it tough to keep up with the tempo. Tactically, it could become a mismatch.

Then there's the issue of wages. Let’s not kid ourselves — Henderson wouldn’t come cheap. Giving a big chunk of the wage budget to someone whose best performances are probably behind him? It doesn’t feel like smart business, especially when that money could help bring in younger talent who can grow with our club.
And yes, nostalgia is powerful in football. Who doesn't love a good comeback story. But those don’t always end well. For every Ronaldo, there are plenty that don’t work out — look at Defoe’s last spell. We can’t afford to get drawn into a story at the expense of progress.

The club's moving in the right direction, building a young, hungry squad with energy and ambition. Signing Henderson now, feels like taking a step back just as we’re moving forward. Sometimes, the best way to respect the past is to let it stay there.
