If he signed for us, I suspect he knows his role would be to simply sit in front of the back 4/5. The running will be done by others
Many people go to work in Saudi Arabia, they don’t seem to be aggressed against in the same way as Henderson. Was it that he knew he’d made a poor choice that he didn’t stay long (I don’t know the answer)
He made so many good choices, his support of LGBT was brilliant.
Then he went to play in a country that opposes LGBT to the extent they kill gays.
Whatever your views on the rights and wrongs of him going to Saudi, please don’t make the argument,
“who wouldn’t have turned down that sort of money to look after their family”
Because, he had more than enough money to keep him and his family in comfort, forever.
Many people who go to work there are just ordinary people, they aren’t as wealthy, and, they haven’t campaigned so vociferously and publically for human rights as Henderson, rightly to his credit did. Many people go to work in Saudi Arabia, they don’t seem to be aggressed against in the same way as Henderson.
I’m kidding nobody, and I’m not sure who you are to tell me I am or who I think I’m kidding with my bullshit. The second point is correct. Henderson does in fact have the money to not need to go to Saudi.
The main point is bollocks, however. Nobody on this board gives the first fuck about what happens in Saudi. FACTNESS!
All of these virtue signallers on this board would have been in Saudi for about 500 quid a week man. FACTNESS, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
The absolute state. You people really think you're kidding everyone with your bullshit.
All the Saudi shit though and the potential negativity around that,I don’t know.
I agree I reckon most. Most supporters couldn’t give a monkeys, he would be welcomed back with open arms.
I have to say, his doubling down on his motives for moving did him no favours. His move was clearly motivated by money, not politics. And while he probably underestimated the blowback—especially given his previous support for LGBTQ+ causes—it doesn’t make him an agent of the regime. He’s not out there promoting it. He played football there. It’s a grey area, but it’s not the same as being part of sportswashing. That is a well written post and I shall give my position a lot more thought.
Tell you what would help though, if he did an interview and confirmed how much he regretted going there, regardless of whether or not he joins Sunderland.
That was a bit tongue in cheek, but I still think the overall point holds. With due respect comparing JH to Danny Graham is mental.
He is exactly what the club and team need right now.
Sorry, I think many could give a monkey’s.Most supporters couldn’t give a monkeys, he would be welcomed back with open arms.
Milner has faded but you still regard him as a no brainer? That was a bit tongue in cheek, but I still think the overall point holds.
If he's like a James Milner then it's a no brainer. If he's starting to fade then it's a very different proposition.
Not at all. After his abusive posts I'm entitled to have a go back. Why are yoy defending him? From your post on March 19th 2025... YOUR words..
"Try not to use personal insults - I always assume people who use them lack intellect"
I'd suggest " Hoist by your own petard " nicely sums you up.
Sorry, I think many could give a monkey’s.
Exactly we will be too busy cheering him to the rafters.BHHIt’ll have virtually no impact on his support should he walk out again in the red & white stripes. I can’t see people not going, protesting or anything else impacting upon the team or the Club or Henderson as an individual. It’ll not even be a topic of conversation amongst most fans.
I agree it won’t have any impact, but that surely shouldn’t mean I can’t express an opinion about it. Without being called a virtual signaller. It’ll have virtually no impact on his support should he walk out again in the red & white stripes. No because we need 25 players who can compete at this level
I said he was a hypocrite at the time. But people have got to be able to make mistakes and move on.
Truth was he had all sorts of people telling him it was the right thing to do from Liverpool (£20m), to Gerrard (we will be great together) , to his agents and advisors (10% +)
Yes he has to take responsibility for his decisions and that was a bad one in our eyes, but let’s face it it’s specifically because of the mags.
There are people criticising Jordan for political purposes who are supporting Hamas actions in Gaza … yet they would be strung up if they went there.
The world is full of hypocrites and I doubt little Jordan registers on the Richter scale apart from in the minds of a few holier than thous
