Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

I was well pissed with him when he did the Saudi thing. But I'm over that now. We move on.

I'm mixed on his return. I'm not sure his owld legs with two years away from the Premier league are what we need but there's no denying the incredible presence he would be for our young team. But old legs can still play a role as long as we're not expecting him to be box to box.

Erring on the aye BHH at the moment.
I’m not sure I’m over the Saudi thing.
He had been such a good ambassador and then, to me, sold his soul for dosh he didn’t and would never need.

I’m for Henderson signing but with conditions.

I am weary his personality will consume the rest of the locker room and they will too easily defer to him. The “experience” signings in the past have been steadying hand types and not dominant personalities. Regis doesn’t seem to lead this way and hope Henderson emphasizes this and not takes over.

Also, if the age and legs do come into play, or he straight up is less effective, there is no obligation to keep him a starter. We will have nowhere near the amount of the ball or territory of the field than he is used too from Ajax or Liverpool.

I acknowledge we won’t know this answer to these until we are deep in it, so I will celebrate the signing as I see the logic and hope for more exciting signings that raise the level.

Quite a few on here slagged him when signed.......................abroad

Just wondering whether theyve now changed their tune with all this speculation

There's no doubt we need a player of his experience

And all this speculation seems realistic

Im not really an advocate of players returning 2nd time round

But, Bracewell did

Im sitting on the fence

I would like to see Tony Towers back

I thought it was a huge mistake. I’m sure he thinks the same.

I don’t really want him back due to that choice.

Ultimately I don’t have a say if he does or doesn’t.

i slagged him off as he was going to a piss poor standard of football in a joke league when he was still capable of playing at the highest level. more than happy to have him back

.. That's the first time I've ever been accused being woke  ..
My point is this. If you don’t want the club to sign Hendo just state footballing reasons. All this rubbish about him playing in Saudi is woke nonsense. He is free to play anywhere he wants. These wokies who try and look down on people who conduct their affairs with hard work need to take a look at themselves.

.. That's simply your opinion. I'm of the opinion that people are allowed to have an opinion and that internet bullies who think otherwise tend to be clueless..

I don't want him back at the club. He's no doubt a superb footballer and captain. However, he sold out his ethics and moral stands for money. He's therefore not the sort of role model I'd want for my children to have as a poster on their wall. He was already a multi millionaire so didn't need to go to Saudi to feed his family.

I realise, as ever, that I am in the minority and most people think I am mad (or add whatever adjective gets thrown at me on here). There aren't many things that are important enough for me to change what I do, but there are some. I will never buy a Tesla. I won't set foot back in the USA until the Orange Toddler leaves office (or more likely dies). I won't be watching our matches against Al Qaeda next season.

I've thought long and hard about this, but if he does sign then I'll be walking away from the club. I'm fed up of Saudi sports washing. The mags celebrated with tea towels on their heads. We can do better than that. I think it was a dreadful move that Henderson went out there for the blood money. It could otherwise have been a Roy of the Rovers fairy tale end to his career with his boyhood club.

I'd far rather have Luke 'I celebrate goals with my shoulder hanging out' O'Nien any day, even if that means we watch Preston North End again the following season.

You'll find that people with morals and ethics frequently self-reflect and think carefully about their decisions. That's why they make those decisions, instead of pretending things don't happen.

He hasn't played an appropriate level of football for some years now & when he was, for Liverpool & England, he was in winning teams playing faciliatory football - in that sense, I don't believe we have room for passengers or luxuries. Forget his roots, and there's no way we would advocate for this type of signing.

Re; the Saudi thing, it wasn't tasteful and I'd prefer to stay clear - but mags portraying a moral equivalence to him going and playing there & us welcoming him back VS accepting their club being ran by the government are wrong - and people shouldn't be guilted into thinking they're the same thing.
I genuinely worry about people who are against Henderson coming back next season.

It’s a no brainer.
What has Casimero added to Man Utd since they signed the all conquering Champions League winner? Different horses for different courses, I don't think Henderson would add value for us.

Feels a bit like when we signed leadbitter to me...

This'll soon end his England career 😂

That’s a strange feeling. I had more like Steve Bould in mind or even Dwight Yorke.
Players who win pretty much everything at the highest level

It’s one dimensional thinking. Because we employed so many piss taking journeymen in our time, Hendo must be one of those also.

Hendo is the still being employed to influence the England team. He’s a total professional.

Fitness may be an issue but his football brain and leadership is exactly what we need.
