He's 34 years old, gave up on his PL career at a time when he was clearly not keeping up, lost his England place, went to Saudi for cash, then came back to play in a sub-standard Dutch league. His current England reselection was met with surprise to say the least because most football people recognise his top level days are finished. Evidence, not Rose tinted nostalgia.

Yeah the reports are he actually didn’t get anything in the end because he left before it kicked in.
