PSR rules and the real KLD/KS masterclass

It's far harder. Players will need to have controlled loans at Championship level first I think. Pointless loaning them any lower really. From what I've seen watching the age groups this year, only Abdullahi looks close to going straight into a Pl squad. Neil looks an even better prospect, but he's still very young.

Finn looks a fantastic prospect as well imo. Him and Neil will be the mainstays of the u21 team this year if they dont get a loan

If the figures I'm hearing are correct, we have just won a game worth £220 mill. Surely that is profit against the bottom line?
We could spend £219,999,999 and still not be losing money.

How the fuck can we lose money unless we just piss that up the wall?

That's minumum revenue over the next four seasons. Allowing for better commercial deals, we should see turnover increase by about £150m. About half of that will be straight out of the door in increased wages. Only then can we think about transfer activity.

At this very moment in time, we are probably the club with the healthiest bank balance in world football.

Approx £18 mill of debt wiped out with a £220 mill windfall.

We've got players who can improve and players we can sell for good money. The deadwood won't be on massive wages so it's not the issue it would be for other teams. For instance, Coventry would probably need to accept a loss on Wright and Simms before they even started to strengthen. Added to that we've got a French manager at the time Ligue 1 finances have gone down the toilet. It's a massively tall order to bridge the gap but we've probably got about as good a chance as a none parachute club is going to get.

Makes it even harder for newly promoted teams

It's all about maintaining the heirarchy...the mags have had the same issue trying to cement a place into the top 4 , despite having the richest owners. One of the huge issues with the whole system is a couple of seasons of under achievement / mismanagement puts clubs at huge risks.

It's not unthinkable that Man Utd could go another 10 years without winning another PL trophy. Which would have been unfathomable during the Fergie era.

We can spend more than £60m this summer. No club pays for a transfer entirely up front.
This is surely the critical point. Assuming we generally offer on average say 4 year contracts then straightaway, any transfer fee outlay is amortised over the 4 years so in theory, we may commit to spending say £100m on transfers alone but in that given year, it'll be on the books as £25m for accounting purposes, at a very simplistic level

I think that’s pretty much it. Added we’ve sold Watson and potentially Jobe, there’ll be enough money to strengthen. As usual it comes down to getting most of the transfers right rather than the amount you spend.
