Jobe Bellingham - post SAFC compendium

We've seen so much celebration footage in the last 10 days that it's all becoming a blur, but Jobe has definitely done some excited pulling of the badge!

Like the betting advert says..."The star player who kisses the badge then kisses the club goodbye!" It's just the way it goes. We're a selling club. He'll have no real affinity with - and ties to - SAFC (despite making all the right noises) and will soon be badge pulling at whichever club quadruples his wages.

Said it the other day that he is a very good player but is very replaceable. A decent fee with a big sell on and js been a brilliant bit of business all round.
I agree but I think it's the potential isn't it, that's what people are buying here. The lad is 19 and I think he's done so well and is so mature that people forget the age and forget how much scope he has to go further.

I mean he'll sign a contact with whoever and will probably be 23 when it finishes - the kid might have another 15-20 years in the game

Then again, there's a possibility he's peaked. Either way I think the pathway set by his brother means we'll find it very tough to keep him and then it becomes how do you get the best deal - whatever we agree there will be very favourable clauses for future success for the club.

I can’t help but feel slightly unfulfilled, despite the fact he’s helped get us back up.

Being honest I don’t feel he influenced games enough regularly given his level of talent, even taking his youth into account.

Overall he’s done very well, but somehow I think he could have done even better. It's a shame if it is the end of his time here that we won't see him do so.

I wont be churlish though, and my overriding feeling is, while it’ll be disappointing not to see him develop further with us, if he does go, I hope he goes on to reach the levels his brother has, and has a great career at the highest level.

Unfortunately with Jobe for us to have signed him in the 1st place it meant his camp would be calling the shots on when he moves on to his next step.

That being said if he does leave which is expected at this point, he leaves with my best wishes, kids got a bit of class and I think he does love it here but his career is already mapped out for him.

Just feels a bit off that 2 days after the biggest game of his career, it's all over the papers about jumping ship. Wonder what the other players think of it.

I know what you mean, with the best will in the world, sticks in the throat a little, that he doesn't want to be here. I assume the players have known he's off for a long time though. Anyway good luck to the kid, no matter how far he goes Sunderland AFC will always be bigger than him.

He’s not like. He’s a decent midfielder on his day. If we want to stay up we need far better.
Neil might be better without Jobe in the side, two holding midfielders has been a struggle. When Neil went off with one holding midfielder we improved

If he goes, then he does with my thanks and best wishes, Hopefully we have included a hefty sell on clause.
My hope is that he fancies giving the PL a go, at least for as season...

It's a meh from me.
Certainly won't lose any sleep if he goes
"Alexa. Show me you know nothing about football without saying you know nothing about football"

I like Jobe but two seasons running he's tailed off towards the ends of the season. I put it down to being young and playing so many games. I do think though that the PL will be a step too far for him next season (as it will be for many of our players). It might not be such a bad thing to cash in on him now. His value will have gone up also and we can push back a little on low offers as we don't need to sell as such.

Three clubs in for him means more money for us.
The fee will be the fee irrespective of how many clubs are in for him. It will be set in stone.

Also, many on here wanted the fella hung from the rafters in footballing terms last season, completely disregarding his age.

It’s been a perfect deal for all concerned.
