Jobe Bellingham - post SAFC compendium

Think his interview said it all, it was all im glad to get the club back to where they belong. There was no we in any of it. His instagram post was also ‘job done’ whereas a lot of others were ‘we are premier league’

I was told on good authority yesterday before the game that it will be his last game for us, real shame if it's true as he will only get better and looks like he's loving it here.
Hopefully the thought of playing in the Premier league will change his mind we all know that money talks.

I think he would be best served staying and playing in PL but he may well go to Dortmund. They came with late run to get into CL and he can develop out of the spotlight. His physicality would need replacing.

I think we will sell him, but he'll still play for us next season. If you know what I mean. Jude went to Dortmund because B'Ham were never going to make it into the premier league, so Dortmund was his springboard into the elite level. There is no better place for Jobe to develop than at SAFC in the Premier league, he can skip Dortmund altogether.

Fully expected the lad to be sold for big money this summer after the start he had to the season regardless of which division we ended up in.

Just wonder if the family might consider a season in the Premier league as being worth the experience.

I'm sure som e big clubs will be looking at trying to get him right now put of fear that a good Premier league season could see his value add another 10m easily (Delap as an example).
I would love him to stay but sadly I expect a deal to be done for him to go

Our aim next season will to be to stay up which will be extremely difficult. 8 of the last 9 promoted have gone back down; forest the outlier and they broke PSR rules.

Jobe playing in the bundesliga as Jude did will suit his development much better with elite level coaching than a deep rooted fight to stay up here; plus any relegation could see his stock drop. His family will strike whilst the iron is hot and he'll be away in the next few weeks.

No guarantee, but he loves us, we love him and it has to be tempting to stay for one shot at the Premier League to see how we can do. Didn't Dortmund senior executives fly the NE 10 days ago to try and seal a deal?
Depends whether he thinks his development will be held back by the defensive duties that will inevitably accompany a season of 30% possession . He'll be more visible globally in the EPL but he may enjoy the wide open spaces of a stroll to the top of the Bundesliga and of course the UCL mega league.
I think the time for him to go is if Sunderland get relegated.

With him, I honestly don’t think it’s about money.

His family/advisors know that for him to continue developing as a player, he needs to be in a team that will allow him to flourish. I don’t think he gets that in our team losing most weeks and fighting relegation.

I could see him going to Leverkusen. Xhaka is getting on, he wants to forge his own path not just copy his brother, and they’re competitive in the Bundesliga. I could see him going to Dortmund tho, if that’s what they think is best for him.

Where's he going Jasper and for how much

I suspect Dortmund mate. But his parents clearly value close relationships with coaches and staff for their boys development, hence why he came to us with Speakman and Dodds. They will have established relationships with people at Dortmund. Also they seem to like the idea of them being out of the limelight of the PL. It also gives him Champions League football and his aim will be to get in the England squad before the World Cup.

No idea how much.

I think he will be going.

A top move to an easier league would benefit him greatly and I'm not sure he'd prosper in the Premier League yet. Hopefully the cash would allow us to attain a player a couple of years older and ready to slot in.

Whatever happens, he'll always have my best wishes; he's played a huge part in getting us back, and I'm sure he'll always be a supporter.

Well, why don't we just buy one of their elite level coaches and keep Jobe. Jobe's a good 'un!
