He went to another level the year after when everything was set up around him.He looked incredibly good in the Championship when we tailored must of our play to go through Amad and Roberts however.

That's not the only problem though is it? He definitely needs to add more to his game to be a success in the PL.Totally unsuited to how they played . Not his fault they played him out of position most of the time ,then sacrificed him anytime they had a player sent off .
Not sure thats true tbf, we just didnt have as much quality around him.He went to another level the year after when everything was set up around him.
Ah yes pens are a gimme at SunderlandNot sure thats true tbf, we just didnt have as much quality around him.
22/23 season: 11 goals (no pens), 14 assists.
23/24 season: 15 goals (5 pens), 4 assists.
Absolute rubbish. He wasnt bought for this season. Ipswich have built a team to play in the championship next season
Mundle is better and if we go up we will strengthen anyway.Would have in back in heart beat ….!!!
I said on this very thread it was a very poor footballing move signing for a team likely to struggle badly.I actually thought it would be a good move for the lad. Ipswich is a good club and given expectations would be low, I thought he’d do ok.
It hasn’t really happened though and at times he has looked hugely out of his depth.
I genuinely hope he turns it around but I do wonder if he regrets turning down the last contract offer a couple of weeks before the fee was agreed with Ipswich
The thing is everyone knew it was going to go this way. He took the coin for a season of top flight football. I’d have him back but he’s been badly advised twice now. Shouldn’t have moved from Leeds too soon and Ipswich was a sideway step in reality was always going to be a one season trip. There’s a million players who took a punt, got more cash and the move just didn’t come off.
Jack is one of those lads. Fair play he rolled the dice. It didn’t pay off.
Me too. Said it many times on here but when he was up against a PL full back (trippier) he was hopeless
His most memorable contribution of the season?Fell over dawdling on ball which lead to vardys 200th goal
Looks that way, disastrous move him which I thought it would be, ppl keep banging on about the money but he would have hardly been on the breadline and surely some kind of deal could of been reached where he was highest earner with increase if promoted, coupled with the fact he’s the main man here, settled and everyone believed in him, ah anyway he’s made his bedHis most memorable contribution of the season?
Nail, hit, and head..... and i believe it's mainly down to one thing and that's greedy, immoral agents who only want one thing for themselves, a big pay check. There's no way they care about these kids s future. Don't know the answer but surely there should be some sort of regulation/ safety net ,There’s a million players who took a punt, got more cash and the move just didn’t come off.

During his spell in League One I think he was gaining both match fitness and confidence, after all there was a reason he had to drop to our level at that time. He’s the kind of player you have to tailor your entire system to. He looked unbelievably ordinary under Neil at times in League One when we played around Ross Stewart. Didn’t even start the Play Off Final.
One game.Me too. Said it many times on here but when he was up against a PL full back (trippier) he was hopeless
The problem is that he would never have got a move to a team who weren't going to struggle.I said on this very thread it was a very poor footballing move signing for a team likely to struggle badly.
That's how it's turned out. The move was made far worse by a stubborn manager playing him out of position and refusing to alter tactics.
Obviously I was shouted down by people who can't see beyond money and others who still think McKenna is brilliant.
22 points and minus 44 GD speaks for itself. Dreadful season, worse than Luton last year.
The problem is that he would never have got a move to a team who weren't going to struggle.
Rightly so. He's just not at the level for a club with ambition.This.
The big team just weren’t interested
