Kohli

scotch

Striker
Arguably the greatest 1 day batter ever
A very fine T20 player
A great test batter, maybe a little below great but his average, runs and innings stack up

Is he a poor series against Australia away from test retirement

Good batsma..especially in ODI. Would rather have jadeja in the side he's far better all round player

Appalling entitled attitude and has no sense or sportsmanship. Kind of sums up modern Indian cricket..they have chips on their shoulders.
Don't disagree, he's a pain the backside on the pitch but generally a much more amenable guy off it (though he has his moments). I think he's also due a lot of credit for making Indian players more professional in their approach. He's really set the tone with fitness etc away from the game and I think you see that in the generation that's followed him.

I’d be happy to see the back of him.

Pietersen aside, which is a bit controversial anyway, but have England ever had such an unlikeable player ?

As a rule, they don’t retire their greats, Tendulkar, Dhoni, now Kohli, probably all played on a bit longer than they should have or currently are.

Aye, the little master was stuck trying to get that last 100 for so long, still a good player by the end but not one of the best 6 batters for India.

Massive massive blow to test cricket if this happens, India, the board and fans maintaining an interest in test cricket is vital for its future, and while Kohli has been they they have done so

Really hope he plays this series in England, it’ll lose a bit of edge if he doesn’t.

These blokes are annoying but without the rivalry and spice its a much lesser sport

Sharma has also retired from test cricket after rumours he was going to be replaced as red ball captain

Very unlikeable for his antics but in his defence he’s been a massive advocate of test cricket and it’s importance so I respect him for that.
