Attendance Thread - Coventry City (Play-Off 2nd Leg)

49k is not the capacity anymore tbf

Since that was the capacity in 2001:

• The front section of the north upper is permanently closed due to away fans throwing stuff

• There’s been changes at the back of the east stand

• The modifications to the BCB and Press areas

• More segregation between home and away fans
Never had 49k
Highest attendance was 48353 v Liverpool
No segregation

It wouldn't save many seats at all tbh and how often would they be needed? Once a season if we got to a playoff.
It would save a canny few as they wouldn’t have all those front seats unsold, must close to 800 and they keep bsvk rows empty too , add some between the fans currently close 1.5k in total so prob free up at least a thousand

So 3 sell outs in about 10 years warrants all that fuss…
was responding that it wouldn’t free many seats, it would , if we need it is another debate, I’d imagine if we did go up we would sell our a canny bit given the crowds we getting in champ and sure you got to give 3k in prem so woukd be even less for home fans keeping them up there

I think having the away fans in the gods is an advantage in the play offs.

If the atmosphere is good then the away fans will struggle to have an impact.
Upstairs actually increases the volume, it bounces off the roof and travels along the west stand concourse.
So 3 sell outs in about 10 years warrants all that fuss…
Most of those 10 years in the lower leagues.
