Borthwick

Feels like a great move both for him and the club, I hope it works out.

Whilst he wouldn't command a place in the first XI anymore, not many sides can boast a reserve top order bat of the quality of Badger.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he played the odd NEPL game🤔

Must be more of coaching role he’s simply not been the same player since he came back from Surrey.

Lower in his stance and a lot less fluent especially through the off side. He was very good in his first spell.

Presumably mentoring and coaching will be with the developing 2nd team players. Should be free of these commitments on Saturdays. Should imagine he'll play fairly regularly for Whitburn.

Had a good couple hours with Scott at the weekend when he was playing for Hartlepool against Bishop. Missed him bowling but he was sat next to me outside the changing rooms when Hartlepool were batting. Very nice, down to earth lad. He talked through his reasoning for this new role, saying how much he is enjoying it and how he's not just helping younger players but its also helping his game. He was happy to sit and chat with us all whilst watching the game, talking about cricket, football and just his personal life.

Hartlepool also had Wilf La Fontaine-Jackson who has played plenty 2nd XI games and Yash Vagadia who is Yorkshire 2nd XI and also fielded for England at Headingly the other week.

We were with him on the day of the play off final. Decided against getting a ticket and decided to remain loyal and play for us.

He got a first ball duck. 😀
