Durham v Hampshire (A) C.C.

For the second consecutive year our game at the Rose Bowl doesn't enter a 4th innings. It reckon it's the worst test ground for pitches in this country, the majority of first-class games at both domestic and international level there end in bore draws.
 

I'm glad Campbell is calling it out. Mind you Durham have been guilty of some poor pitches in recent times as well mind. However this game here has basically just been a complete waste of time. Something needs to be done about it because it's making a mockery of the competition and folk are spending good money watching it.

Yes but that's nothing to do with Hampshire playing on a used wicket in the first week in May.

It's not so much it was a flat wicket it's the fact they used the same wicket they had used for a match the previous week. It's the first week in May not September.

Ditto why they had to play 2 games in succession on the same wicket. That's how the schedule is making a mockery of red ball cricket.

Hampshire been producing poor wickets for a while that’s on them
 
Prior to the enforced crowded schedule a groundsman would have had to prepare 1 strip by early May
That's why in future 50 over cup is planned for early season-as they did with B&H Cup
And why are so many wickets prepared on the very edge of the square?
