I want to go, but hope I can’t! With a bit of luck I’ll be coming back from Wembley that day. I’d definitely see Shame again, but didn’t enjoy them the one other time I’ve seen them at Northumbria Uni. It was a me problem, cos I’d missed Fontaines DC supporting cos of support slot swaps & id seen an interview a few days before where they were they came across like posh little boys trying to be edgy & they thought SLF wrote Jonny Was. Anyway, I like their records, so I’d give it another go & try & block out past traumas.

However, the one band I’d be looking to see would be Brògeal. Similar experience to Fontaines DC where I went early to see them support the Mary Wallopers, but they’d moved the slot forward 30mins to the advertised stage time. Saw 2/3 songs. Have seen them twice since like. They just sound like a load of young lads who grew up listening to the Pogues. Love them me.

Not a fcking chance, not when there's a possibility of Wembley.

Shame are good, seen them multiple times now.
Katy J Pearson is canny, bit snotty about people talking during her set (which is fair enough, but late in a festival, she won't stand a chance)

Home Counties, Swim Deep, Lizzie Esau, Pit Pony, Cortney Dixon and Stannington are others that I've seen.

Aye those early youtube clips are weird
They are posh and the singer has a big gob and didnt really know what he's talking about but they were younguns . I think they're underrated. The albums are eclectic ,clever and they produce the goods live .
Boiler shop I saw them .
Not a fan of the whole piss up shouty ,stamp your feet , pogue thing 😄

It would be a last minute ticket for me anyway

Went to their gig at The Boston pub on Saturday and they were tremendous! They are so versatile; all have good voices; Marco Cinelli plays keyboards, guitar harp and bass; guitarist sings and plays harp; bassist plays guitar too; Alex Cinelli drums, congas and all kinds of percussion. Many styles, obviously, proper blues/rock with soul tinges; some latin influence; acoustic songs and (a highlight for me) four voice a capella gospel song which sounded like a Blind Willie Johnson number, but I think all the rest were written themselves.
Lots of audience sing-backs and the crowd wouldn't let them off stage.
See them if you have a chance, but apart from a few festivals here, they are playing all over Europe this summer.

Gregory Porter tomorrow night. Missus and me have been thinking about a city break in Amsterdam, so I've booked it around seeing Santana at the Ziggo Dome in June.
