Booing and abuse

Hmmm. The same players have demonstrated that they are capable of performing. That they can pass, press, tackle, shoot, score… etc etc. And, more importantly, that when they make a concerted effort, play as a team, apply themselves with spirit and enthusiasm , they get results.

From what I can tell by reading these forums, however, none of the above is happening at the moment. Now, if a player isn’t all that good, but plays with enthusiasm and gives it a go, supporters are more likely to be forgiving (albeit they usually aren’t) but when a player obviously has some ability but, for whatever reason, doesn’t appear to be applying themselves, then that is unforgivable. And supporters have every right to make their feelings known.

We've got a manager who willingly throws games in the interest of "freshness".

You can hardly be surprised that fans are pissed off after wasting their time and money following us around the country.

Conveniently missed us singing Sunderland till I die and clapping them, they stood there and clapped back. Proper support that, if they don't go away and pull it out of the bag now then they can't be helped
So did they not get “booed and abuse “ as the Op suggested -seems like he was there ?

A lot booing today and abuse, Rigg looking like his nearly crying, players just standing there staring at us. The feel good factor gone?

Big pressure on Regis to deliver in the playoffs cause flinging 4 games in a row was always going to make our crowd a bit more moany then what we already are.
Sorry but they can sit and feel sorry for themselves as much as they want, it’s on them
These performances have been devoid of any passion, fight, enthusiasm and quality for months
People are paying good money to watch people play half arsed
What are they meant to do just clap along regardless
It should give them kick up arse as the manager clearly isn’t

It’s a big boys game so they were fair game today for abuse. They might want to have some honest conversations in the dressing room.

We know they’re better than they’ve been showing. Time for the players to start and demand more from each other going into next week. It’s been pathetic for too long now, and yet we’re in the playoffs so time to start and put some intensity and passion into their performances.
Pretty much this. I look through our best eleven and there's a lot of them will be thinking they should be getting PL moves. Time for them to start showing it by performing against mediocre sides in this division

For what’s its worth I left on 85 mins so didn’t hear / see how bad it was.

As much as we’ve had a great season, and we all would have taken 4th back in August, people surely understand that the performances against Norwich, Swansea, Blackburn and today have been crap, with no intensity.

I only have a short train back to London, but I’d be royally pissed off if I had a 5 hour coach ride back to Sunderland to stew on it.

Can never get away with booing like, what's the point? They know they played shite. It's never gonna suddenly give them an impetus to play better or an extra boost of confidence is it?

I'm not saying clap them off after that but better to moan and piss our pants in the pub after or on here, need to get behind them in the ground.
