Jack Blatherwick & Jake Ball Will Join On Loan For The Next Two Games

Why would Potts be in squad if he wouldn't be available
Potts in squad but not in final XI. Quite simple really.
Durham have been told by ECB to rest him at some stage and have chosen this game.
Our Just develop our own. You know, like the Currans, Lawes, Sykes, Barnwell, Taylor, Patel, Atkinson... but nice try.
The fact remains that the bulk of Surrey senior players are poached from other clubs. They're a wealthy club and can afford to. Nice try though. Knew you would bite 😀
Not many of those you name are in today's team.

..... our buy almost a whole team in --- Lawrence, Foakes, Clarke, Overton, Fisher, Worrall, Roach, Smith (NZ quick). The Surrey first choice seam attack has 1 home produced player in it.

Is it worthwhile bringing in expensive overseas bowlers early season when they're constantly breaking down? Can't say that they're shaming but it does appear that in such cold conditions they use the slightest ailment to cry off. It's happened too frequently to put it all down to bad luck.

It’s a fair point, do we know that’s the reason tho, id like to know their training before

This is the argument for less Cc aint it, I don’t agree with this by the way more the better for me, but you end up just gettint and XI of fit bowlers you can find rather than top class selections

Ben Raine is a mint bowler but his main attribute really is he can play every game and bowl lots of overs, accurately, and that’s down to his speed

Not solely down to his speed. I suspect Ben Raine is prepared to play through the pain barrier of minor ailments. He had knee surgery over the winter. Presumably he played through the ailment some of last season.

Fair point yeah

But I’d argue at his speed and with his short run up I can still be effective while battling on

Where as for example like Josh tongue would be shite bowler if he was just trundling in

Ben Raine is just a mint bowler tbf
