Tommy Watson

Just because some have a different opinion than others and let their emotions take over does not make them morons.
How emotional were you at 2.55pm on a bank holiday Monday ?
Just below the belt embarrassing behaviour man
No need ,we can argue pros and cons ,he's been poor the last few games but he won't be the first or last
Other players will be thinking wtf ,which doesn't help one bit.
But yeah get rid of them and Regis and ,and until someone's happy ,oh hang on we aren't happy again
I'm getting emotional

I haven’t and won’t boo him. What does it achieve. It’s a messy situation though, and he’ll have played his part in that.
It is pointless and counteproductive.

It's shit what has happened, but booing a Sunderland player who we basically have no choice but to play currently is just stupid.

Feel free to boo him when he eventually plays against us.

His head must be all over the place.

I was talking to a lad today who was at the Bristol game. He reckoned some of those boos will have come from supporters who he ignored at the final whistle, after they had give him their backing.
He didn’t. I was there and he came over, one of the first to do so actually, and he got booed. He then left the field ahead of the other players, who remained applauding the fans.

I don’t know why, but he also was miles ahead of the other Sunderland players coming out for the second half on Friday. It was a bit awkward.

Le fee could have played left

Got to be heartbreaking being a supporter and being boo'd by your own fans.
Hardly a supporter. Nurtured and developed all his life by Sunderland, then didn't want to play for us and couldn't wait to leave. Deserves the boos.

What's worse is that the players that do want to play for us, and got us to 4th and the play offs, are being booed off at half and full time. That's the kind of support our fans are offering our players going into the playoffs.
Utter Morons today the ones booing him! don’t understand their mentality!
You don't understand? Are you for real?

I thought he played ok today but I agree that it is better for all concerned that he is left out
the booing was atrocious. what affect did it have on the rest of the players.
mind referees allowed some atrocious tackles on him. no wonder the lad is very wary of getting stuck in.
if you are going to do a deal, keep it stum, don't tell relatives as they will let their mouths go and before you know it ...

Nah, not having that like. He was booed before kick off & on his first touch. Thats that emotions, it’s chosen behaviour.

It comes down to two things really. Do we go to Sunderland matches to voice our opinions as loudly as possible & make everyone around us aware, or do we go to support Sunderland.

As shite as he’s been, there is zero benefit to booing him for Sunderland football club & the what is now a small window to get promoted. There’s no chance a young inexperienced kid will be spurred on to being booed & we might need him to represent us at some point in the biggest matches of the season. & I can’t imagine any of his teammates will have enjoyed hearing any boos aimed at one of the young lads they share a dressing room with before a ball has been kicked.

There’s literally no benefit to it for anyone.

10m plus is a good deal for safc from what I've seen of the lad. Nowt to boo him for either as he's being paid to play to help keep others fresh for the play off matches imo.

Have we heard Tommy's side of the story? Maybe he didn't want to go to Brighton?

@Roker Mackem - have you got a problem with the kid?

He's a 19 year old kid whose (IIRC) reluctant transfer to Brighton in January was fecked up by the interested parties.

The transfer was resurrected again in the back end of March - was he pushed because 'The Model' needed funds?

Why would the 'model' reject bids in January and then agree a transfer for the summer if we needed the money now? I doubt we'd even get the money until the transfer is officially done with the registration transferred.

Makes no sense whatsoever. Normal for this place I suppose.

The booing is childish, and even more so when he was being subbed off after being one of our better threats going forward at the time.

Much better performance (attitude wise) from him. His decision making is still largely poor though, but you could say the same about Jones & Aleksic.

Looked more of a threat on the right than he has done on the left.

Problem now is, every wrong decision it’s “he’s trying too hard to appease the boo boys”
He needs leaving out. It should never have been announced he was leaving.

Thing is now on social media there’s so many journalists and agents piping up publically.

If we didn’t announce it, I’d bet Harte would have tipped off that Fab Romano who would have announced it on twitter/X. Then it looks like we’re hiding deals from the fans.
