It's definitely fair to question the decision to play him but any time a player is lucky enough to wear our shirt and looks utterly disinterested they deserve criticism as well. In his case he's a supposed supporter, his PL move and money confirmed and he's got a chance to help us get promoted. To be jogging about like he has been is a slap in the face to everyone at the club who helped get him where he is today and everyone who has sat and supported him from the youth levels up. There's a way to do things and, regardless of what the club could have done differently, he's been utterly unprofessional.

He is only a youngun and I expect as he gets older he'll look back on this episode with regret. And unless his attitude improves significantly he'll look back on it having failed to make the most of his talent. Imagine a lot of the top players with a burning will to win going through the motions like that. They wouldn't even do it in training. Hopefully nowhere near the squad come playoffs and if he is, that's when I'll really question the manager

Id play Dan Neil tomorrow then give him Oxford game off completely, not even in the squad.
It's a shame we're so light at the back as it would be nice to give Mepham and O'Nien a rest as well before the play offs

One in the first half he had the ball, took a heavy touch away from goal and didn't fancy chasing with the defender on him so just left it.

One player chasing for a playoff spot with his side and committed to putting the graft in to get there, the other off to the Premier League at the end of the season regardless of results. It doesn't matter to him.

People are writing him off because he has not shown any real quality in the majority of games he has played….and now he has shown a shit attitude as well.
Why can’t you (and a couple of others…no more) see that??

Another jilted baby. He has been absolutely quality for years( youths and reserves). Was quality when he 1st burst onto the 1st team scene. Everyone was raving about him. Now when he signs for someone else he is suddenly shit. It's crazy man. People need to grow up. This is gonna happen to us, it's 'the model' now.

..this us why I can't get away with this model. We are never going to see the best of any players that come here. I wouldn't mind seeing 1 or 2 players in their prime come here. Just my preference of course.

I watched a fair bit of him in the u21s so certainly wouldn't say that he doesn't have ability. He was well ahead of a lot at that level.

He didn't look ready for regular championship football though, certainly not in a side with Mundle. If he wants to be a success and get the really big money he needs to be getting games at a good level and learning how to deal with physical defenders. And better defenders because sometimes in u21 you're playing against players who the clubs know aren't going to make it.

If people are writing him off its more likely to be due to his attitude. He hasn't looked arsed since January. The players who make it have ability, but loads of players have that. They also have the burning desire not to be second best. Very few top players who really make the most of their talent would play as half arsed as he has. He might make it but for me that's what's changed since January, people never had any reason to question his drive and professionalism until then. Whilst he had ability he wasn't the best I've ever seen at that level, far from it, so he certainly doesn't have enough talent to make up for not giving his absolute all. He'll need to really knuckle down at BHA because currently he'll be getting loaned out and I doubt it'll be to a club as high as us

Yep. Don't ever get attached to our top players. Which is a shame,because that's what football is all about,having heroes

Watson is suppose to be a Sunderland fan as far as I know from East Durham. No problem with him leaving, it's the prem, more money and fashionable Brighton. I also appreciate he doesn't want to get injured but his attitude is shocking. No doubt he has heard the fans in the stand and even read on here probably and other platforms so probs another reason for his attitude.

I think Watson is trying but he isn’t good enough. He looks exactly what he is a teenager who has only started a few first team games. Looks way off.
