Havent read this whole post but this running him into the ground things is bollocks. He isn't a machine where we can put him on full throttle and let Brighton sort out the maintenance when he moves. He quite clearly has given up on Sunderland, considering he has been here from six years old is bizarre. Nobody else to play, rather some fan out of the crowd than anybody half arsed who isn't going to be here. I initially thought good luck to the lad but he can go and rot in Brighton or on loan league one somewhere.

Let's be real - he's a local lad, friends and family talk, there's a very good chance it'd have come out anyway.

Waiting till the summer likely costs us millions.

I agree…once the deal was agreed Tommy should have been parked. He is about to sign a life changing contract which will set him up for life. The vast majority of players and supporters on here would then seek to ensure he is fit to sign that contract. It is madness to expect him to do otherwise, it is madness to play him under these circumstances and it is absolutely unfair to abuse a young professional footballer in this way.

I'll tell you then...he wasn't getting "abuse"..a few boo'd him when he was walking over..he clapped a bit n starting walking off, on his own, his own team mates looking at him walking away.....that's when the "abuse" started....and fully f***ing justified. Took us 8hrs to get down there by coach yesterday..up at 3:30am and he couldn't be arsed to acknowledge the fans efforts??
You were wrong to assume he was getting abuse...

He should be nowhere near the first team. He isn't arsed anymore, not what we need going into the playoffs.
