Tommy Watson

The lad will get a life changing amount of money a chance to play in the Premiership, why in God's name play him, of course he will not jeopardise this opportunity.

Should have been told to not even bother reporting for training. Done nowt but try to leave since he's turned 17.
I just don’t get it. It’s his boyhood club and he seemingly couldn’t wait to leave. Is he a Mag? No Sunderland fan would put in a performance like that yesterday. He should be ashamed.

All the time and effort the club have put into him and this is how he carries on.

It did occur to me that he’s a mag

Don't have a problem with the young man making the most of his opportunities, good luck to him.

But that display on Friday was pathetic.

He may not want to get injured, or he may be a skunk. We were down to ten man due to a card happy idiot of a ref...everyone, the other 9 players were putting a huge shift in, and he contributed nothing.

If he plays on Monday, he will take some stick.

Totally get it that his head is not in the right place......for that reason alone he should be no where near the team, or squad

I'd play anyone but Watson.

If Patterson fancied a kick about I'd play him.

You say that but if I'm leaving my job I do switch off a bit. I'm not in it for the long run.

He's handed his notice in effectively, so it's no surprise his heart isn't in it.

He is effectively a loan player. We've had many loan players who have tried their best and they weren't local lads.

He should professional pride. He shouldn't be comfortable losing football matches or physical duals. If this isn't part of his character, he won't go far.

He will want to impress his new employers. His performances may sway what minutes he gets in pre season/the calibre of loan he gets.

Is he a fan? Or at least it's likely his family and friends will likely be. He can make a positive impact.

Hes been hung out to dry by the club who were so desperate for the 10 million they desperately did the deal outside of the transfer window. Yes hes been poor but question the manager who plays him. And no he aint the only option. Piss poor management of a player from the club.

Be hard to pick him again after the abuse he got at Bristol. Fans seem to think they have been slighted by his move. He is off form returning from a significant injury but I think saying he is deliberately not trying is wrong.

It’s the clubs fault not Watson.
They concluded the deal at a stupid point in the season.
The lad couldn’t have won either way.
Yet again our great club causes such a fuck of a situation.

is he really any good? I’ve seen nothing to indicate that he is in the top five all time highest value players sold.

I see the logic of using him. Not playing another out of position until Mundle is back but we could have given an academy player time.

If we play him at home on Monday this is crazy. It will be hanging him out to dry and opening him up for a torrid day of abuse.

Personally good luck to the lad. That money could pay the wages of le fee for three years or invest elsewhere. It’s a good fee for a lad with potential. We all know how itv will work out in the end.

That’s the thing though, natural instinct will take over. He’ll want to win a match, he’ll want to play at Wembley. So I don’t think he’s just not arsed.

I just think he’s not good enough, yet. In fact, he looks way out of his sensory & got a lot of developing to do. He finds it way to jink past other 17yr olds in the reserves, he’s showed none of that in the first team & he also appears to be struggling with the part where he’s expected to play as a team too.

He has his new club, his agent and whoever else coordinated a bid right at the end of the window to thank for that. Left the club with no good option.

If they’ve already signed him they won’t be pulling out if he suffers an injury though, surely? Play the lazy little get til Mundle comes back.
