Gorgo (1961)

Jesus, this film stinks… it’s so bad even the Guttenberg would be struggling to accept the role. A bloke in a dodgy looking monster outfit tramples over London… as I’m watching (on one of those old films channels on Sky), it’s smashed Tower Bridge….

I’m sitting thinking somebody should have just brought a big stick of Chewits on a lorry to calm it down 🤣

Warfare (2025)

Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza write and direct this story of a mission gone wrong in Iraq, 2006. Mendoza used his own account of surviving the mission to keep the film true to life.

It’s a brutal, unflinching film that at times is so unsettling and upsetting that I found myself fighting the urge to look away. Taking place entirely in and around a house the soldiers are using to watch the locals.

A cast of young, up and coming actors (and one or two established) including as Mendoza, alongside Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Kit Connor, Finn Bennett, Joseph Quinn, Charles Melton, Noah Centineo, and Michael Gandolfini.

This film seems to agree with the criticism of most war films, as there is no glory to be found here.

7/10

Really looking forward to this.

Super low expectations for this like but was a canny funny in the background while I recovered from the match

Minecraft. I remember going to see Super Mario Bros as a bairn and being thoroughly wounded by how shite it was, I'd say it was competent in comparison to this green, CGI mess! I had to take the kids to see this and they loved it so that's the main thing but Jesus H Christ, it was annoying, Jack Black as well was the winnett stuck on top of the turd cake.

I went to see it with my son the other day. It was 1 hour and 40 minutes of sheer stupidity.

The Amateur - really surprised this wasn’t straight to streaming.Decent enough and would be happy to watch at home. glad that omniplex prices are lower than cineworld and vue.

My favourite Woody so far? Probably.

I watched this a few weeks back. I’ve seen it many times. I was thinking it was my favourite woody, but I spotted a few flaws, but I’ll not be specific as they are potential spoilers.

Still love it though. Michael Caine desperately legging about always makes me laugh. I like his voiceover too.
