Jack Clarke

Passing a comment on his career is hardly obsessing marra.
A 115 page thread dedicated to how much he’s wasted his move suggests otherwise

In respect to what else you said, I don’t mind people commenting about his play, performances etc but it’s everyone bleating on about how he’s throwing his career away etc because he’s gone to a side who are going to come straight back down. That’s what I find obsessive and pathetic.

The criticism of Clarke and the circumstances behind his move is well harsh imo. The club pretty much needed to sell him to balance the books/fund incoming transfers like Isidor, Aleksic, Mepham, Samed (I know most of them are loans but there’s still loan fees & wages to consider). I never got the impression that he was very happy about moving, and his early season form didn’t exactly suggest he wanted away.

And that’s not a criticism of the club, if they did force his hand. Selling to reinvest is pretty much what we’re all about; and after the shitshow that was the last 6 months of last season, not a lot of our team was in high demand. It was probably going to be either him or Jobe.

It’s more about the fact he left us for Ipswich and many of our supporters in this thread can’t get over that.

The reality is, money and the division you’re playing in is the driver, as it is for many footballers. They just refuse to believe Ipswich at the time of signing was a more attractive proposition .

At the time being the operative words. Yes, the money will have been a huge difference but he’s back at the top end of the Championship - if they still want him that is, and McKenna doesn’t seem overly keen

Clarke would have and should have backed himself at the time. He wouldn’t have made the move thinking he was going to be on the bench.

Or the owner could always just throw more of his wealth in? Seems an alien idea to many on here.

Hes unlucky too that the same bloke will likely be picking the side next season.
