Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

He’s weak in attack as well. Honestly, out of all of our “assets” we’ve absolutely robbed them
He's literally been one of the best young players in the whole of the under 21 league this season. His goal scoring record is superb for a wide man.

He was great in a couple of games in our first team prior to his injury. He's a tremendous prospect. That's not to say he'll make it in the Premier League but he has a decent chance.

Won’t be a miss. I genuinely think he won’t be as good as everyone thinks. I’ve watched him quite closely when he’s played and his overall play is nowt to get frothy over. Weak as piss in the tackle. 10m? I’d take their arm off
I think he's got potential but he's currently nowhere near Mundle and it's not a given that he'll keep improving and reach that level. He's not the strongest (may improve there as he grows, but might not), he's similar to Clarke in that you know he's cutting in, he's often prone to shooting when there's better options (albeit that can be coached out of him).

He's a good prospect but nothing more than that. I think Rigg would be best off staying here for another season and developing his game, and he's well ahead of where Watson is. Watson needs to be playing week in week out. Maybe the fact we wouldn't guarantee that is partly why he wouldn't stay, but then he's going somewhere where he'll be even further down the pecking order. He'll be out on loan soon enough and it'll be interesting to see if he regrets the decision in the future, just don't think he's ready for a PL move at all. His decision to make like, and the money will set him up (albeit if you make the right choices you can make a lot more money down the line), but it's an odd one imo

He wouldn’t get anywhere near our best 11.

I'm not a clapper by any means, in fact I don't care much for their blinkered views. However, I'm happy to give the club the benefit of the doubt on this one. If a player wants to leave then you just have to let them leave and get the most money you can for them. The indications are that Stewart, Clarke and now Watson wanted to leave. It's frustrating and in the short term selling our best players sets us back, but on the whole we are edging forward, it's slow going but we are undoubtedly strengthening. With the money, there's a good chance we'll sign somebody who is currently better.
I recall early on KLD saying he won’t be pedaling our best players but wouldn’t stand in their way if they wish to leave. So far he’s been true to his word.

He's literally one injury away from our best 11 now and he's only 19 in a weeks time. If he hadn't been injured he could secured the left wing spot. Plenty were saying he was better than Mundle after his couple of excellent games.

To all of those saying it's a good deal because he's not as good as Mundle.
If Mundle is so much better than him, what makes you think that he won't leave too?

It wasn’t utter rubbish. You come across like a bully.
It wasn't utter rubbish to suggest someone on this boards son knows the complete ins and outs of Sunderland's summer transfer dealings? 😂

I doubt anyone in this world including KLD and Speakman know it! We don't even know what division we will be playing in FFS.

He probably will. Unfortunately that's the nature of the beast, but the chances are we'd get very good money for him, and he'd have given us at least a season of being first choice. It's more disappointing when a young prospect, who is apparently a supporter, leaves for what ultimately isn't a massive fee in modern football terms and hasn't stuck around long enough to sign a decent length of contract or play more than a handful of games.
