Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

I’m puzzled by this but I’m more inclined to be disappointed with the lad more than anything.
He’s got great potential but his career has hardly started.
I know money comes into the equation but he’s got all the time in the world for that. He’s playing for his home town club who’ve nurtured him since 6 year old and I would have thought his main motivation at the moment would be to break into the first team rather than go and be a reserve albeit for much more money.
I don’t know whether that twat Harte has been in his ear but I’m just simply pissed off with the lad.
I think you’re old enough to remember Bobby Park, Peter Stronach, Richie Pitt etc. No doubt they thought they had ā€œall the time in the world for thatā€ anarl. If I’m wrong about your age sorry marra!
Ā£1m or so overnight is hard to turn down. Not that I’d no. Unfortunately.

Even before the injury mate he was very hit and miss. He defo needs time to grow physically but I'm not sure if going straight in the PL is the best thing for him.
Aye, he had spells where he looked like the only player on the pitch who'd actually have a run at defenders. Imo this is gonna turn out terrible for the lad, if he barely get a game for us he's not gonna have a sniff in the prem. Jack Clarke situation all over it feels like, which is a shame because we've shown we're willing to play young players and develop them (Jobe/Rigg).

I don't myself mate. Football is a universal language, and in the games he's played in, he clearly has something to offer.

The only reason I can see why he's not getting a look in is him being too attack minded for Regis (unfortunately).
Come on mate, you’re a better poster than this!

He's going to have to take a massive leap in his development over the next couple of years to get to the same level that Mundle is currently at. There's a really big difference as things stand.

Maybe he'll get there, but I'm not sure playing bit-parts at a PL club is the way it'll happen. I suspect he'll be straight back on loan to the Championship next season.

Early days but he's literally had 2 decent games at Championship level in his career to-date. Not sure how anyone can think he's going to pull these rabbits out of the hat based on what we've seen so far.
That's your opinion, but I think I see more future in him than Mundle, and Brighton have clearly seen the lads talent, and they have been very good in recent years at identifying upcoming talent. Watson is now in the position of being sold/valued for far more money than Mundle and also earns far more money than Mundle despite being Mundle 3 years older and starting at a Premier League Club.

£40k per week and £1mill signing on free is what my pal who works at academy reckons
10% of the transfer fee as a signing on fee is pretty standard. £40K certainly isn't huge money in the premier league so I don't think it will be far off the mark.

Ross Stewart probably got a similar deal. Time will tell who's got the right end of this deal. Not much too beat!

Clap when we sell our star player

Clap when we don’t sign a striker

Clap when we don’t sign a full back

Clap when the budget billionaire gets a good deal on a loan

Clap when we sell a young player and announce it outside the window.

Some fans are deserving victims

We sit 4th in the table with a squad probably worth 100 million
Top of those not with parachute payments .
A chance of promotion that I would have snapped your hand off for at start of season .
Le Fee could add something different
All to play for and doing ok and progressing
I’m ok with the club at the moment and trust them on this
Hotel booked
Haway the lads
The clappers !
