Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Pre Coventry game he had played 79 minutes, 62 of which was against Preston. It was reported last summer if he signed a new deal he wanted to play week in week out.
Should be earning that right not demanding it, last summer he was the 3rd best left winger at the club. Now instead of getting first team minutes he will be playing against our reserves next season, I’m sure we could have offered him minutes at that level as well

Yep ,not that arsed but he has to be frozen out now ,
I'd go as far as say don't come into training, he's off and won't give his all ,even if he thinks he is
Wouldn't play anyway Mundle be ahead of him every time

Give over man. Most knew he'd be off in the summer, but theres no reason to come out with it now. Just look at the drama it has caused. Watson won't get a good reception by a lot of fans and there'll be those who think he shouldnt be selected to play at all in case he's just plodding along, knowing that he's off anyway.

They'll be a shit load of players at clubs knowing they'll be playing for another club next season, but that news won't be made official until the summer. Its just another classic blunder by the board to release this now when there's no benefit whatsoever.
People were already talking about Watson playing like he's away etc. It may be Brighton said they were going to announce it so sunderland got out infront of it. There's plenty of reasons and it all means very llittle. It's a game, and a transaction for a player that has barely played. As long as he puts effort in on the pitch going forwards in the minutes he gets, that's all I care about. It's a game, and there are plenty of other teams that have done this over the years. I really don't get why people need to get so worked up about iiit. If everyone knew he'd be off in the summer anyway it means nothing that it's announced now then, as everyone would already be expecting it

He’ll be back on loan in the championship next year, but earning £20k instead of £2k.

Not hard to see why he’s moved, is it?

Hopefully the club can now spend some money tying Dan Neil down and persuading Rigg to stay for another season.

I am resigned to losing Bellingham, if we don’t go up. But we can’t afford to have our entire engine room decimated.

If Mundle get's injured and we have Watson as our only LW going into the play offs and we have burnt our bridges while still playing his wages. He's a Sunderland lad so I am sure he would step in if needed . he's 18 ATM. Think about how many bad decisions you made aged 18 (Not saying this is a bad decision but just putting his age into perspective

A wish people would F off saying its a great deal cos hes done f all for us. Its about what he could have went on to do, potential. Brighton have been willing to pay 10 mill and other clubs scouts have swarmed round him. We had him in our hands and couldnt or wouldnt see fit to do what it took to develop a home grown talent. I already personally think the club will be fooked in the long run with these owners but the fans acceptance of what goes on is the bigger concern.

Keane was right about Harte
Apparently Harte slagging fickle fans off
What I’ve seen whilst he played Tommy got nothing but outstanding support from fans ( including myself )
Is he suprised one or two would take umbridge about a boyhood safc fan who has played a handful of games jumping a ship that has a promotion chance and that we are not high fiving each other ?
I kna whees fickle …
The club are looking after others in the dressing room that want to play for the team -not those who don’t -well done the club
