We will see who has been opining correctly when the results are in.Meph's had a very good season.
Jobe's had a very good season.
O'Nien's had a very good season.
Cirkin's had a good season.
Hume's had good season.
Wilson's had a good season.
It's one thing opining that Dan Neil's your player of the season, but to suggest there's no argument against him is just absurd.
I mean... Rigg hasn't exactly been putting in many good performances, has he? He's a talent, to be sure, but he's not pulling up any trees at the minute outside of 1 or 2 performances at the start of the season. If he goes for big money that'll be people banking on his potential, not his form.Rigg looks like a pile of f***ing crap if you trust those ratings...and we want 38 million?
People voted for the Nazi party, Brexit and Donald Trump. It doesn't make them right. We will see who has been opining correctly when the results are in.
People were pretty unanimous before Christmas that he'd been a bit crap - himself included. That's a big chunk of the season for a so called player of the year to not be very good.I rate Dan Neil, just a shame he hasnt got better this season. The suggestion that he should win poty has me perplexed.
I'm not convinced he's been any better. He looks the same. And again, pre-Christmas, all the talk was about how much Jobe (and to a lesser extent Rigg) had kicked on since the summer and were leaving him behind.I'm perplexed that you haven't seen an improvement from last season. It's clear as day.

You realize this is just for fun, right?
The discussion? The award? The game of football? Life itself? You realize this is just for fun, right?
Neil is worth more imo but as he’s coming into the last year of his contract I can’t see us getting his true value if he leaves. Having said that, I don’t think he willHe’s had a few more bad games than one. If 15 million is up for grabs for Neil it is extremely good business.
All three won’t go. We are building not selling the lot.

He started poorly but, making a few high profile errors and generally looking out of sorts but he has had a decent season overall. He was excellent from November to February really.Im really surprised he's in contention, I had no idea the consensus was that he has had a good season, as like you say, all I saw was people whinging about him prior to Christmas.
Not slating the lad other than his Coventry performance, but there's a good group of players he is well behind, imo there.
So was Brexit but it's been a right carry on

Hume or Onein would be my pick for POTY though.
I tend not to click Dan Neil threads because they depress me. Many of our fans haven't got a single Scooby when it comes to understanding a game of football. For the record, IMO he is our most important player and we should give him what his ability warrants before we lose him on the cheap.I'm perplexed that you haven't seen an improvement from last season. I'm not sure where you have done your survay mind. He was out of form to for the first third, handful of outstanding performances over winter and then Coventry.
Im not saying he's had a bad season, just average and not improved when nearly everyone around him has. I think the initial point of the thread was that he was one especially that I had assumed would improve.
Mine would be Hume or Mundle had he not gotten injured. A very close third in Jobe, who had his form not dropped off a cliff in January to that of an average level, should have walked it. Then you have a group of players all in front of Dan IMO, Mepham, Wilson, maybe 09, Mayenda had he started more.
He's a good championship player this season, whose form has fluctuated. I thought he'd be past that point by now, certainly the standard shown at Cov.

09 for me...Just for his consistency. No brainer imo.Meph's had a very good season.
