Gabba gone in 2032

The Gabba in Brisbane is being knocked down after the 2032 Olympics and cricket matches moved to a new stadium.

I've never been and we've been hopeless there, so no tears shed but it's part of cricket/ashes history. the first ball of many ashes series was delivered there (harmison's by far the worst)

I presume they'll use a stadium build for another sport adapted for cricket, drop in pitch etc.

Was reading the other day they'll be building a stadium for the athletics etc that will replace the Gabba thereafter. Not sure if it will result in Aussie rules/rugby and drop in or not. Read like the plan was for the Gabba's last hurrah to be the Olympic cricket final, wouldn't be a bad way to send it off (England being presented a gold medal ;) )
