Dan Neil

Quite a bit different to losing your whole midfield. As others have already stated, losing all three at the same time would be a disaster in terms of our progress.
What if we bring 3 quality players in?
I don't think the owner would be that stupid to get rid of 3 players without replacements being lined up.

I think you maybe taking this a tad seriously. It was a polite way of saying those who don't rate him are thicker than a boxing day turd.

Therefore a polite barometer. I'm nice like that
Think he's excellent, love his turns when he smoothly moves us upfield. Gotta be honest he has been shite last few games though. Let's see Saturday if he has recharged. Same for Jobe. Think both will start.

He's also not intending to stay in this league mate. It's go up or a few are on the ship out.

Luckily for us, Aleksic will have had a whole season of bench warning to spring into action as a starter for the first team next season.
Indeed, and then the money brought in for Neil can go into funding 2 or 3 youth projects, or we get another from the AOL production line.

I would personally love to see Neil sign a new contract this summer. It's not often you get academy lads make it to the first team and stay there so it's great when it happens.
Having said that, if the summer comes and contract talks aren't progressing as well as we'd hoped - i'd happily take £15m. Great sale for FFP purposes with him being homegrown, and we'd have funds to find a quality replacement. And who knows, if roma want to use that to do a deal for Enzo then i'd be willing to listen
15m ?
I wouldn’t entertain a bid of less than 30m.

I think he is good for us but I dont think he would be anywhere near good enough for the premier league. He still gets caught on the ball in dangerous areas like he did on his debut, although much less of it now.
Nonetheless the premier league are simply faster and stronger and he would get robbed all the time.

But from his perspective he has to go and find out.

I think he will suit the slower pace of Serie A, it's been proven with Clarke that just because you are good enough in the championship does not nessecery mean that you are good enough to play in the premer league, only the best english talent makes it at that level, see Rogers Watkins Stones etc for further details.

He's still only 23 and is learning and improving every season, we've seen that. Nothing to suggest that can't continue

Bellingham is definitely off.

So you want to sell Neil.

That means resisting an absolute feeding frenzy for Rigg, who is the least senior anyway.

It’s not good.

It’s all good man. Loads of money to get a real solid captain. We have others coming through. Stop pussing pants.

Depends on your views about what creates a good 'team' able to get out of this league. It's not easy to get out of to start with, never mind having to bring in 3 brand new players. All sorts of issues regarding settling in to the area, squad etc. Especially given our model and the fact that we seem to bring in younger, unproven players who we can develop and sell on later for a profit.

Despite what many will say on this forum, we are doing really well at the minute in terms of making steady progression and the 3 players mentioned are pretty much the nucleus of our starting XI along with likes of Hume and Patterson. I'd much rather be able to keep them all or even 2 out of the 3 if we can, than take the risk of new players. I also get that if they want away then there's not much we can do, especially if they don't have long left on their contracts.

Thomas Tuchel nailed it with the England squad during the week when he said that success in a tournament is about finding "the right team" rather than just the best individual players. Selling all 3 of them would be a massive step back in terms of our progress for me.

I honestly think Neil would get a new lease of life away from here. He would improve massively imo with new surroundings.
He may well do and, if he does go, I’ll wish him well and keep an eye on how he does.

There are certain aspects of his game, however, that I think he has room for significant improvement though. Ie awareness, passing and shooting.

Not disagreeing with that at all. He just doesn't look to be enjoying his football here imo. All looks a bit too much for him, captaincy weighing him down??
