Forthcoming gigs.

Aye was class, the support was … interesting? The host guy was daft anarl but I really enjoyed LB. They all played counterfeit and boiler which are some of my favourites.
Honestly got there late to avoid watching the support, the only one I'd heard of was Ecca Vandal who does have one song I quite like (Cruising to Self-Soothe, very early 2000's pop-punk vibe) but didn't see her. We caught one song by Riff-Raff, jesus he was bad.

We didn't get Counterfeit, they played Dad Vibes instead which I actually really like although it seems like a lot of the crowd didn't know it or didn't care for it!

Thinking about it the only thing I really wish they'd played is The Truth, such an underrated track.

Loved the gig me first time I’d seen them, must get tedious doing the same stuff all the time so no probs mixing it up, let us do what we want for a few songs then we’ll give you what you want.

Must admit came away shaking my head a few ***** just had their heads rocked off with proppa punk anthems and left singing we hate sunlun …………… sad fukkers that lot man.
Keep ya futty shit out of gigs man ffs
I sometimes wish SLF would just stick to the old classics but in hindsight it's nice that they mix it up a bit..last 3 or 4 years they've opened with 'Suspect Device' and the place went mental..they should stick to that..they've got enough good material to close the show in style.

Funny thing is, when I go and see an older band, especially one I`ve seen a lot, I`m gagging for them to play some obscure stuff. When I`ve seen KISS, for the last 30 years they`ve played more or less the same set give of take a song or too. They should chuck the old fans a bone every now and then.

With Rush they kept it fresh by playing 80% of their latest album they were touring on, a handful of old songs they hadn`t done in years and a bunch of classics. kept everyone happy. In all of the times I saw them, they played a totally different set each tour.

That’s what I like about Pearl Jam - they play a different set each night.

Last time i saw KISS as headliners they opened with Love Gun, i was eagerly anticipating Detroit Rock City.

Could have been the Crazy Nights tour that one.
First time I saw them they kicked off with Creatures of the Night and have opened mainly with Detroit Rock City or Deuce since then but have started with Psycho Circus and on the Revenge tour it was I Stole Your Love , which was amazing.

Was good when they did the 30th anniversary of Inflammable Material, so full album right through. Think was at the old academy, before it was nx?

Cock sparrer do the same mate start with riot squad end with coming back and play about with classics In The middle, said they found a formula that works so why change it.

Sitting on the balcony waiting for Mary Wallopers to come on. Unfortunately already spotted a couple of Newcastle shirts & bizarrely black & white scarves.

Just let the band do their thing.
The band made a comment about congratulations on the football before the first song, but that was about it fortunately. Must have seen about 10 back & white scarves like. That weirder than wearing the actual shirt for me. You sort of need clothes. To add a scarf in a gig, when the venue is hot as fuck anyway is trying very very hard.

Anyway, good night, shame there were a few too many who couldn’t shut up during the quieter songs. Would have been interesting to see the crowd on a non St Patrick’s Day cos there was a hell of a lot people in green & daft hats. I’m not sure some would have been there at all if it wasn’t an Irish band on st Patrick’s day, but there you go.

3/4 songs that they haven’t recorded yet, so it might be they’re going for another album, but as I’ve said previously, only so long you can fill albums with 75% covers for & get away with it. To be fair to them, they’re not the obvious ones, so they sort of make them their own.

Anyhow, good night.

My next one is probably Pit Pony at Pop Recs, assuming my mate got us tickets. Definitely got tickets for the Supersuckers two days later. Then Ian Prowse at the Cluny, Dubliners Story at the Empire & Primal Scream at City Hall. Not a bad April. Could have stuck Gurriers, Tim Burgess, Jim Jones & Martin Stephenson on top of that if I was trying.

Such an underrated venue (/bar/cinema/community space), wish we had something like that in Sunlun
The gig tonight was in the cinema room. Found out through a flyer that Still House Plants are playing there May 16th. I've been dead keen to see them for a while. Same night as Sacred Paws play Zerox and same night as The Fire Doors play the Peacock... FFS!
