Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Is it actually a step up for him?

In terms of playing for a Premier League team over a Championship team it is, but would he go into their first team? Probably not.

So they loan him out or he plays for their U21s.

Can't imagine him getting a loan any higher than Championship level and their U21s are currently four points ahead of ours having played two games more.

From a football point of view it looks like a step further away from first team football.

I like him, he looks a good prospect, but maybe the club are looking at the money we got for Clarke and thinking £8m-£10m or whatever figure has been chucked about is a good price for him.

Hope we get him on loan next year..

Sounds like the summer could be quite the rebuild this year, Bellingham is a certainty and Rigg surely to follow. Plenty of interest in others too..
Be gutted to lose Bellingham, Rigg I’m not so sure. The way I feel at the minute if someone offered 20m I’d snap their hands off. Even at such a young age he seems to lack any pace and physicality. Hope I am wrong with this being his break out season and he develops into a top player.

Think Riggy has simply been overplayed
He was very good earlier ( particularly given his age ) hence the appreciation at games for his efforts
The team are struggling -not surprising suddenly one or two are asking should we take this amount or that amount if offered it .
Not so long ago we were all bricking it in case we lost our “ assets “
Time for the manager to manage what is a tremendous young group correctly.
We are still in with a great shout

He has trying TOO hard Rigg mate. It means so much to him, he is using all his energy mentally. He came over to the fans at full time, first player, held his hands up and was apologising to the fans....it shouldn't take a 17yr old kid to do that...whilst our captain went straight down the tunnel from the bench.

Mad how people are saying he's shite. He tore Sheff Utd apart down there. He's been out ages, still a young kid. He is a tremendous prospect.
But but he’s been poor since he come back, honestly some people just don’t know owt

He’s been told he’ll be first team for Brighton. He’ll be on the bench for the majority of games

No idea why any safc fan would want him to go.
I certainly don’t -he looks a very good talent who picked up an injury and is just returning.
Hope he stays and progresses .
Nobody in their right mind would want this lad to leave. I remember a while back when people were shouting out for us to produce home grown talent. We start bringing a few through and folk want them sold off? Utter madness.

It's very much this I reckon.

It's funny because it's really obvious to me he'll be a top player or at least playing regularly in the premier league but the reality is that we'll never see the best of him. He'll be gone long before that.

So if a £25mil + offer comes in for Rigg or Bellingham this summer then we'd be fools to turn it down. £50 mil in the championship gives you 75%+ chance of promotion imo.
