Dan Neil

Evening mate. Rose tinted glasses regarding Cattermole IMO. He had two purple patches each lasting a handful of games in his entire time here. Man City and Wigan games spring to mind. Back end of Bruce's time and beginning of O'Neil's time here? Did nowt after signing a long contract and being stripped of the captaincy. Having said that it was in the top flight so I'll not press you. ;)

I agree with most of that but that was my point. From 18 years of age up until Advocaat, maybe even before when he got sent off against Wigan he was of a far higher standard than Neil, that's no slight on Neil, Catts was just very good. But as you said he was beyond bad after signing the contract, his first game in fact against Leicester was the worst performance I've seen, only nearly matched by some of his games in the championship.

I don't think those are tinted, he was very good until he was very very bad, imo ofc.

Proves you are a DN fan boy
Take your rose tinted specs off

There’s no rose tinted specs.

We have a bad result on here and everyone loses their minds.

Dan Neil is probably our player of the season or is at least up there. His performances for the last 4 months show that.

Notice that Jobe or Rigg don’t get the same level of criticism and it’s for one reason, people had criticised Neil earlier and are now confirming their own bias. It’s literally one bad game in about 18 from him.

Another overrated player for us

This. Some of our prized assets arnt actually as good as we like to think they are
If we don’t go up we still get big money for the likes of Bellingham Rigg Neil cirkin & watson because they are good enough to play in the Premier League

To be fair I was well pleased when we signed him. He'd shown a lot of promise, even call ups to the national squad if I recall correctly. I thought we'd landed a future star. A little time after he signed I began hearing about his off the field antics which in all probability tainted my view of him.

Did you miss his last 4?

I’ve got all night lad, go on, chuck some names at me and justify it. I’ll wait
Pointless
I’ve got better things to do than debate his lack of ability with his number one fan
He’s been anonymous for the last few games & shocking today , granted he wasn’t the only one but he’s hardly leading by example is he ?
Captain ?
Do me a favour
Of course he is. He was our best player for about 3 months. Controlling the game week in week out.

We saw how important he was for us when Le Bris ridiculously moved him into a more advanced role to accommodate Samed.

His form has dipped after a few excellent performances so I'll beg to differ over his long term value to the side. Having said that beyond him being local I agree with you and really don't see him as a skipper. I'd get shot of this huddle crap which appears to me to coincide with our drop in form and go for Hume.

It's whimsical on my part but he's just so relentlessly aggressive. :)

Has anyone commented how poor Mepham has been?
