Sunderland railway station.

I like the GC services but unless they get new trains, I can’t see the service lasting tbh. The present fleet is falling to bits

I took some photos of the platform on my phone to show my mate who lives away, jumped on the train. As leaving, couple of transport police on platform, obv weren't happy taking photos. Seems odd they can stop someone on their phone but destroy the toilets and kick a football about not bothered.

I’m thinking the surrounding vicinity as much as the station. You’re right but I haven’t seen one in the station for years, used to be a regular sight.

It wasn't, it was just always closed for long periods after Kim McGuinness promised 'the cop shop' would never be decommissioned in her PCC manifesto - ironic that one of her besties the comically titled 'Baroness of Whitburn Bay' thought that the new train station was her crowning moment, after 14 years of doing SFA it probably was!
 
next time you're there have a look at the black mould creeping up the wall in the big empty unit in the station it's about a foot up from the floor already

I could do that then. Seriously the neglect of Sunderland by NP is a disgrace. I’d love to have the energy to address it as it drives me mad to the point whereby I object to paying the policing allocation of my council tax.

But I’d imagine trains across to the north west would be popular, and to Brum etc. I can’t see how the station improves without more services. More of the NE travel budget should be spent increasing services to Sunderland.

Absolute common sense. Northumbria police should hang there head in shame at the attention/presence they have in the city centre.

They recently extended their track access agreement to 2038 and are ordering new Hitachi bimodes to replace the current fleet. They've worked miracles with the reliability of a fleet of absolute dogs in the Class 180s to be fair to them.
