How did Cardiff’s goal stand ?

Patterson did gesture at the ref but I guess the ref felt it was an honest challenge. I still think was a foul and I reckon if Mayenda did that we would have had it chalked off. I would still keep playing him as I'm not sure about Moore.
The attacker lead with one arm so not a natural jumping stance so in the modern game it should have been chalked off as it would have been in the prem! however im old school so no foul and patto was just weak as piss and way off the ball!

Foul or not seems opposition teams are targeting him now with hopeful balls onto the box, I know I would
Said this yesterday but we need to stop allowing teams to simply put crosses into our box. The crosser is 20 yards from goal on the corner of our box, the pass was rolled to him from 20 yards away and no one made any attempt to get to him. If we’re going to allow that we need 2 big, strong CH…..

Aye & probably giving a penalty away
Genuine question, have you ever seen that happen? I'd not be against it, just never seen it happen. On the other hand, I see goalkeepers often clatter players when collecting the ball and often win freekicks themselves in the progress when attackers have done nothing.

Foul 99/100, blatant, but that’ll not stop the Patterson haters. Is it possible his form has dipped because of the negativity of our magnificent support?
I like Patto and have been a big advocate of his but don’t believe his form has suffered because of the views of fans. If that is the case he’s very weak mentally and will never play any higher than he is now.

As long as pattison learns and just cleans everyone out whilst punching that sort of cross clear next time then it isnt that important. If he doesnt learn then it'll cause him problems at this level.

No way should he be dropped though because of it. As usual though people love blaming others

That is bollocks, very easy for 1 mistake to lead to another for gk’s. Even Allison had a sticky patch not so long back.

I’m another to have to eat a bit of humble pie as I was vocally critical at the time but saw at half time it was a foul, obviously confirmed on here.
Like everyone else I want Patto to be a Prem level keeper but he just isn’t at that level at the moment.
Stop second half was real quality mind and his distribution was much better today.

This is the worry. His distribution and command of his area have been weak points for a while and I just don’t see any improvement in either aspect at the moment

His progress has definitely stalled, hoping he can kick on but I’m not sure he can feels like he has found his level

I said if it’s a case of him making mistakes because of criticism it’s a very serious flaw. What that’s got to do with Allison only you know. Yes it’s true one mistake can lead to another but what’s that got to do with supporters, Allison made those mistakes but wasn’t getting any abuse as far as I can recall.

He has terrible eye to hand coordination for a goalie and makes terrible decisions when deciding to punch with one hand or catch the ball... great lump of a shot stopper but to heavy and not agile enough to make a top goalkeeper! All goalkeepers make mistakes but patto appears to be making a lot of them at the moment but as i said hes ok but thats about all and we need better ...talks of topish prem teams in for him are bollocks in my book as all round game has to many flaws in it!
That wasn't a mistake though it was a clear foul

If someone had terrible eye to hand coordination for a goalie, wouldn't that still mean they were a totally shit goalkeeper? He has had a bad spell coming for crosses lately but over the course of his time in the first team, surely you'd have him down as a plus rather than a minus?

I was at the wrong end for the Cardiff shot that hit hit the post second half but to me it looked like a great save. I think keepers have a hard time in general, their good bits get forgotten unless it's a genuine worldie but everyone remembers the bad things.

I reckon there's a decent chance Patto will play Premier League football within the next 2-3 seasons, the same as a few of the other lads. Cracking young team we have at the mo, just hope we can keep most of it together and keep building 👍
Perhaps i should say not good enough hand eye coordination and reaction time to make it in the prem and has to many flaws in his overall game ........he might i hope get a run in the prem with us but the prem is an elite league and there are defo 20 better goalkeepers out there than patto so he might get a back up gig at a top team but unless he improves significantly he wont get a slot as a number one at a prem team.Basically im a fan and ive made a judgement about patto i think the is to heavy ,lumbering and slow to make it as a prem goalie his distribution is awful and his decision making is of a very poor standard ,he just hesitates to come off his line or come out for the ball when its clearly what he should do and turns what shoud be a cakewalk into a nightmare!
This is simply my opinion and im quite happy to accept yours as equally as valid but all we need to do is wait and see what happens in the next few years and i hope im around in 5 or so years time for you to bump this thread

It looked like a mistake to me .... if the defender wasnt there patto would not have touched the ball he was way off as he had simply misjudged the fright of the ball !

Maybe Liverpool fans support their players through rocky periods?

Hjelde was backing into their player meaning Patto would have had to shift the both of them . Punch it

He was hardly backing in, look at the replay. Unsure why some of our fans are so desperate to argue how it wasn't a foul.

It is a clear foul, the Cardiff player knew exactly what he was doing hence why his arm was where it was.

To think people have seen the replay and screenshot and are still arguing it wasn't a foul. Utterly mental.

To me it looks like he would have at least touched the ball if their player didn't push his arms away from it. If it had been at the opposite end I wouldn't have complained if it had been disallowed.
I think the nature of the game today is everybody expects a free kick as soon as the keeper goes down. It’s telling if a referee doesn’t give it.

Patterson should have been up and in the ref's face.

Look at Burnley yesterday, immediately surrounding the ref snd he sent off the Stoke player.

That this ref showed bias and wasn't going to be influenced by the crowd? We see it regularly against us. Clear foul, shocking decision.
