How did Cardiff’s goal stand ?

Foul all day and Patterson probably gets fingers on it if not fouled so Hjelde wouldn't have unknowingly headed it to their goalscorer

100%....foul all day.....difficult to spot in real time but VAR would have called it.......all those booing Patto should be ashamed of yourselves....He is our goalkeeper ffs a local lad....still young.....doesnt need the f***ing idiots giving him stick on his home ground

I think it's soft personally and he could have punched it. However, their number 22 led with his forearms all game and was determined to smash O'Nien any chance he could. Horrible.

Watching from the NE corner as the centre came in from O’Dowda the Cardiff attacker challenged Patterson with a raised right arm straight into Patterson who was knocked to the ground. The ref had a good view of the challenge . The asst ref had the bright sun in her eyes.
HT we should’ve been 3 goals up.
I heard fans on the car radio complaining, post match that Patterson should be dropped as he mishandled the ball.

A clear foul in my eyes ,leading with an extended, raised right arm attacking the goal and colliding with the goalie’s head/face and knocking him to the ground.
Pretty much how I saw the game too, felt like we were cutting them apart and getting in with ease when on the front foot, always felt we were gonna win and tbh thought Cardiff were really poor, especially in the first half and they could easily go down.

Despite all the bedwetting on here at HT I thought we were a level above them, we need to me more precise and clinical in front of goal and that goes for the whole team, Mundle looking a lot sharper and getting back to full fitness👌
Thought it was a foul at the match then read on here the Patterson is shite useless and it wasn't so my thinking was the brain trust must be right.....having seen the replay now, it's 100% a foul and people might need to drop the agenda.
👏👏👏

It’s a foul. The player has him arm against Pattos arms stopping him from getting the ball. If a defender had used his legs against a strikers legs in this manner it would be a pen

I'm not convinced. Could easily be said to be using his arm to defend himself against Patto charging into him like a steam train.

If they'd both been just jumping up on the spot, then fair enough, foul no question.

Or if the attacker had come steaming in from the side and jumped into Patto the way Patto jumped into him, that would absolutely be a foul.

The fact that Patto was trying to barge him out of the way to get to the ball, though? Would be a harsh foul to call.

Awful keeping, the lad looks so unfit, bread and butter cross made to look so difficult.

He had the momentum and should have caught that easily clattering their player in the challenge.

It’s a clear foul and they get given 99% of the time, in this instance either the ref didn’t see it or he felt it was a fair challenge which is worrying.

I’m not a Patterson hater at all and like a lot of keepers he has positives and negatives in his game but the biggest worry for me is he isn’t improving.

Coming for crosses and his distribution have always been his weak points…I can’t see anything to suggest he is getting better in either aspect.

It's a clear foul mind. I'm sure it was Kasper Schmeichel I was listening to who said refs are starting to let contact on the keeper go these days.

Not sure what the general feel of the SMB is about this, but I wish we'd go and surround the refs when they make clangers. Feels like every team does it apart from us. I know we had a few go over and have a chat with him, but I feel we're a soft touch in that regard.

On first view I thought foul, then at HT I saw it again and thought Patto was at fault but the slow replay on here shows a foul. He uses his arm to knock Patto’s out the way.

We got away with two handballs last week and this one ultimately hasn’t cost us so there’s an argument things even out.

As it wasn’t live on sky we don’t get the benefit of Andy hinchcliffe crying about it like it’s the biggest injustice ever though.

I don't see how your perception of his fitness has anything to do with any mistakes he has made this season. None of them are related to speed or agility.

I didnt think it was foul yesterday and I thought he got the flight wrong and flapped, and I had a really good view from the West Stand.

But seeing that I think it probably is a foul. I have had a few moans about him not coming out for crosses, but the save he made pushing the ball onto the post at 1-1 meant we could go on and win it.

Patto seemed to stand in a gorm 10 seconds then stroll over to the ref rather than scream in his face from the off. Was rather pointless his protest. Ref looked totally confused wether to give it or not. Useless kernt him.

Hjelde was backing into their player meaning Patto would have had to shift the both of them . Punch it

I mean, I'm not his biggest fan, but terrible hand eye coordination? Did you say his reaction save against the post?
He is a very good shop stopper but i should have elaborated poor hand eye coordination reaction time meaning he can set himself for a save but cannot adjust that set !put it in simple terms hes to heavy and lumbering and not agile enough to react to make a top goalkeeper and i certainly wouldnt put him in the same category as Monty.carter.norman,sorenson,gordon mingolet or even panty! He does a decent enough job but in my opinion as a fan he wont make it at the very top level!
