Craft Beer

Where abouts is that? Off to the lakes soon. Love sonoma

Funnily enough been in Fell Taproom in northern quarter today. Lovely space
Was there anyone in? That venue seems to struggle for trade. Not having a proper street presence probably doesn't help. I went past their bar in Chorlton yesterday and it was rammed though.

Was us two and one other couple. It’s a bit of a cursed space there. Like you said, no presence on the street so you wouldn’t really know it’s there but the area is a bit quiet for drinks. Hardly anyone in northern monk too and the majority in were just having food (which we had and was lovely). Port street beer house was busy mind

That's a shame, it feels inevitable it'll go the distance. I went in a few times when it was Squawk and it was always dead. Been in once as Fell and it was the same.

I have felt the same about Northern Monk as well for a while, there's only ever about 5 people in when I've popped in. Mind it's all afternoon stuff for me these days, no idea if it gets busy in the evenings. It's a really large venue to fill so it needs a few in to get an atmosphere.

Port Street is so good. Best venue for beer in the city. Staff are great as well.

Last time in it was basically a bottle/can shop with a couple of beers on. Now it's got 6 taps on and has extended.
3.8, my piss will be stronger, Maybes cause I'm a Vodkaholic tbf.
Can't always be on the 10% stouts. It's tremendous, mad how punchy and tasty it is for under 4%. Probably why it gets so many accolades.

Not arsed about vodka I must say. I find it tasteless, in the main, and i reckon its why people have it with a mixer. Whisky, brandy or tequila, neat, for me Aj lad.

Had a few hours in here too, working my way through their beers. The black IPA is great.

Yesterday I was amongst a few in here. You can sup inside from 2pm.

Thats the skill like. Rarely find any beers under 5% that are any good taste wise, especially in cans. Keg & cask can be different. Not sure if there’s a science behind that or it’s just the setting of a pub.

Ah lovely stuff, it’s Keswick we’re staying in. Know the place your on about too and like you said was just a bottle shop so good to hear it’s got more draft on offer. With that, Fox Tap and potentially Crafty Baa got a few options to go to!

That the Tiny Rebel bash at Guinness?

What’s it like compared to the others. Not much to compare, but Brew Dog probably came out on top for me. Camden the blandest.

Forged was the best, my locals not had it in for a while though, they should just rebrand it. Agree Camden the blandest. Nice pint of it in Bar 88 over Christmas mind, but anything would have been an improvement on the Atlantic Pale in the Seaburn Inn.

I wasn’t overly impressed with the Forge in cans, it was ok I suppose. Only time I had it on tap was Rainton Meadows arena which is way down on the list of places to sample well kept beer.

I’ll go with my prediction that give it 3/4 years & these Guinness challengers will have disappeared without trace. You might get BrewDog still knocking about cos they’re here to stay. But eventually everybody will revert back to Guinness.

Was decent. Certainly better than Camden and ar least as good as BD. London Black still comfortably the best.
