Poveda


Gelhardt is shite. He does some things ok, but scoring goals isn't one of them. You can argue that he's not an out and out striker, but he is a forward player and he struggles to put a clean strike on the ball, he only has 7 goals in his career, which iirc is an a worse ratio that Roberts. Forward players have to be pretty special at some other aspect if they can't score goals and although he can be neat and tidy, he's not special at anything. I expect he'll be in L1 next year.

He was brought in as cover to replace Simms. He failed to make a decent fist of it when called upon.

Gelhardt has said himself he was told he was being brought in to play alongside Stewart, don’t think he has any reason to lie. As you say he was brought in to replace Simms, who was playing alongside Stewart.

Hemir was even playing for benfica reserves, never mind ‘banging them in’.

Football club gets some recruitment wrong. Damn. Suppose our awful recruitment will explain why we’re in massive debt and doing shite in the league I guess, or are we the first club in footballing history to recruit badly and get better?

Simms was occasionally playing alongside Stewart a bit like Mayenda is occasionally playing alongside Isidor.

Most of the time Simms was getting a game due to injuries or coming off the bench.

By the time Geldhart signed Amad was nailed on as number 10, earlier in the season he was in and out of the team.

Geldhart was a direct replacement for Simms but nowhere near as good.

probably but it was a very low bar. He can do some thinks ok, but not the important things. I don't see how it's sustainable for any team to have a forward who can't score.
