Been a terrible signing has little tubby Ian.
Deleted the needless abuse.
The mags are nowhere near the level of buying a player for £40M to sit on the bench whether that be Barnes or Gordon.
They bought Barnes to play on the opposite wing to Gordon. He can't get a game ahead of Murphy or Willock. If he was bought as competition for Gordon because they can only play on the same wing that would still make him a bad signing.
Tonali is nowhere near a £50M player.
Play nice.
The same people will slag our club off for having players out with ACL's or broken legs are the same people who excuse the mags for it![]()
Barnes has got a goal or assist every 0.77 90s. He’s a smashing playerYou have your opinion about Barnes and Tonali and I think you are wrong. FWIW I think they'd easily get their money back if they decided to sell them.
Are you referring to me about slagging off our players? If so, give an example of when I've EVER done that. You'll not find one.
It was an opinion.Club would probably save themselves money by paying up his contract.
I see you only delete needless abuse directed at yourself and not made that made by other posters. You even go as far as to like their comments.
You know exactly what I mean.Ah okay, you didn’t mention anything about age or national team appearances in your previous post.
That doesn’t mean it was correct mindHe was absolutely slated on here at the time mind.
He didn't have good movement for a striker. He was regularly was far too deep instead of being in the box in the striker's position. That doesn’t mean it was correct mind
Agree he wasn’t particularly what we needed, he wasn’t the focal point, he wasn’t the goal scorer. He wasn’t Stewart.
He worked hard and had good movement though, and was fluid in a top 4 alongside Roberts, Clarke and Diallo. They linked up well
We’ll have to disagree if you think his movement wasn’t decent mind. I’ll give you his finishing let him down, he certainly wasn’t a like for like replacement for Stewart. He didn't have good movement for a striker. Amad basically played in his preferred position, he was never going to play ahead of him. An opportunity came up with Stewart being injured and he didn't take it.
Are we really praising people for working hardWe’ll have to disagree if you think his movement wasn’t decent mind. I’ll give you his finishing let him down, he certainly wasn’t a like for like replacement for Stewart.
His work rate and movement alongside the other 3 was good though, we played some lovely football up top. He wasn’t the focal point many wanted him to be. That wasn’t “him” though. He played well against us for Hull the other week, very similar style to what we saw here
Regardless, he wasn’t “sh*te” which was what I picked up on. We’ve seen plenty of sh*te down the years
I genuinely thought he was clueless as to what to do as the main striker. It was his role, he was brought in as cover as we had lost Simms. We’ll have to disagree if you think his movement wasn’t decent mind. You just have to watch the Clarke goal against Preston to see his link up play was really good. He was brought in to compliment Stewart, as soon as he was crocked, that plan was ruined.I give up
I've only said this a million times but...You just have to watch the Clarke goal against Preston to see his link up play was really good. He was brought in to compliment Stewart, as soon as he was crocked, that plan was ruined.
I'm not saying he was bad but you aren't going to go very far if work rate is one of your biggest attributesI give up
I get your point, I just don't think his link up play was too bad. Sorry you've had to repeat yourself a million times.I've only said this a million times but...
He was never going to play ahead of Amad, Clarke, Roberts or Stewart. Bar injuries he was never going to play alongside Stewart.
He was brought in specifically as cover as a striker as we had lost Simms. He got an opportunity and failed.
If Amad had got injured he may have done better but who would want Geldhart to play instead of Amad?
His link up play was OK but you need someone on the back man providing a threat. Even it is just to keep the defenders honest. If you drop back you drag the defenders with you and it leaves less space for others.I get your point, I just don't think his link up play was too bad. Sorry you've had to repeat yourself a million times.
It's obviously not diarrhea and sickness. So what's Poveda's actual injury then?
Seems like an bit of a crock tbh, only played around 80 games in 5 years. Seems to struggle with stringing games together.
