As I mentioned in my earlier post it's not just the football/sport, it's all aspects.
If it's a positive story about somewhere else there's an inevitable link at the end of the piece to something in Newcastle or they'll attempt to make some tenuous link to NUFC if it's sport related. Its so blatant and obvious, they make no attempt to disguise it.
It feeds the idea they have of their jawdee exceptionalism and plays up to the idea that in the NE we're all paid up, b&w jawdees and Newcastle is the centre of the known universe.
Exactly the same with BBC radio. Not one other regional broadcaster operates the same way. It's a massive slap in the face to everyone else living up here, not just folk in Sunderland.
We should be pissed off, we should complain and highlight it and we should expect better, more even hand reporting, otherwise it's simply properganda.

On my “ahem” stream I have 3 x BBC 1. All different regions. Its the same scripted tosh on every one. Presenters who you recognise from the 70’s. Regional nonsense news. (;cat stuck up a tree) Same music. It’s just a complete waste of licence fee to have however many there are.
