Is he continuing to playGone!
Not sure if he is or who new captain is, him and McCullum just announced it in press conferenceIs he continuing to play
He did that about 4 times over 5 years ago.Good. He's dreadful.
Hopefully he continues to play as on his day he can take a game away from anyone.
What an absolute load of shite. He did that about 4 times over 5 years ago.
He's not very good. Only picked as a wicketkeeper batsman. Doubt if he didn't keep he wouldn't have ever made the England squad.
Shouldn't have waned though, should have been at his peak in early 30s. Cares of captaincy more than age has caused the drop in form. Be interesting to see if he can recover former glories. What an absolute load of shite.
5,000 runs at 40 with a strike rate of 115 is a great record. His powers have obviously waned as he heads towards his mid 30s but he’ll go down as one of England’s best ever white ball cricketers.
Sometimes I can’t believe what some posters post sometimes!!!What an absolute load of shite.

I know. He's only arguably the greatest white ball batter we've ever hadSometimes I can’t believe what some posters post sometimes!!!
For him to say if he did not keep he would not the squad!!
It’s beyond belief tbh
The best bit is when he said he did that about 4 times!!
He has done it countless times
Of the fastest 10 one day hundreds ever by a England player Buttler has 5 of them (50%)I know. He's only arguably the greatest white ball batter we've ever had![]()
BairstowOf the fastest 10 one day hundreds ever by a England player Buttler has 5 of them (50%)
Including the fastest 3!
But ‘he not very good’![]()
Buttler has often come in late or later in the innings than all those players having to play more high risk shots a lot earlier than those players in his innings, his strike rate combined with his average for a number 5/6 batsman is simply very good, exceptional in fact.Bairstow
Roy
Morgan
Pietersen
Knight
Lamb
Root
All have better averages than Buttler, all having played more than 100 innings.
Buttler has been good but the above numbers put his ability into perspective.
Wouldn't get into the team if he didn't keep wicket irrc.Of the fastest 10 one day hundreds ever by a England player Buttler has 5 of them (50%)

I bow to your superior knowledge. I was under the misapprehension that he spent considerable time as an opener or a 3. I also am of the belief it's easier to score later in a 50 over innings as the ball is much softer making swing and bounce more difficult for the bowler-another misapprehension apparently.Buttler has often come in late or later in the innings than all those players having to play more high risk shots a lot earlier than those players in his innings, his strike rate combined with his average for a number 5/6 batsman is simply very good, exceptional in fact.
50% of the fastest ten 100s ever including the top 3 for England is a outstanding stat, and I have only looked at the top 10, he probably has even more in the top 20.
Opening batsman in one day cricket in the main will in a high number of cases have higher averages than a number 6 it’s not a equal comparison to compare averages with some of the above players and that’s before we look at strike rates
Right and where did all of those bat? In the top 4 at worst where it’s the easiest place to bat in ODIs.Bairstow
Roy
Morgan
Pietersen
Knight
Lamb
Root

Overall totals are much higher now which should be considered in comparisons and I disagree that earlier in the innings it's easier to bat when bowlers are still fresh and the ball still hard. I don't understand the word plop in this context but I assume it's derogatory.Right and where did all of those bat? In the top 4 at worst where it’s the easiest place to bat in ODIs.
You’re also really pushing it with the better averages crack as well. Buttler, Roy, Morgan, Knight, Lamb and Pietersen all average either 39 or 40. Tell me of them who has by far and away the best strike rate?
So in summary you are talking absolute plop.
