Champions Trophy 2025

Haven't got the bowlers to cover Wood not bowling 10
Joe Root is only going for 4 an over.
With a Duckett 160 odd, he could well get a duck today

We know very well that we are inconsistent with the bat

This is far from in the bag yet
And Brook got 3 he could get a hundred 😂

I'm sure England would have taken a chase of 290 before the game.

We can't do well in this tournament without Wood. We shouldn't be bowling him injured especially with his injury record. He's just been pummeled last over anyway. Crackers.

Well quite

But it’s far from “in the bag”.

How on earth is Overton even in the squad we never look like taking a wicket in the middle overs.
They've picked him as this lower order hitter that can bowl. But then he's not done either job to standard for England that he does in the T20 for Surrey/Franchise cricket.

Despite me thinking Willey should have made himself one of England best 6 batsman and only has himself to blame for being utterly useless every time he batted for England. I'd rather him in the side.

I'd also prefer Woakes and Topley were in the squad too.

Key/McCullum obsessed with picking the fastest bowlers and batsman who can hit the ball hardest. Rather than picking the best XI

Hain and the 3 bowlers I mentioned are all better suited to this format than a number of the people in the original squad.

Maybe they don't want more ageing players when they have a few in already

Wood is not great at this format as he does not have a reliable slower ball does not fully trust his Yorker.

He is best in test with a hard back of a length should be saved for that format.

He showed why his first spell. Bowling at full pelt and going for about 4 an over.

He's came back at less speed and limping and getting whacked.
Wood record outside the 2019 World Cup is awful(albeit a massive plus to have helped us win a World Cup)

2019 World Cup 18 wickets at 25.72
Outside of that 62 wickets at 45.05

England and Pakistan absolutely stinking this tournament out. Surely this will spell the end of Buttler’s captaincy.
