Patto

I think the main problem is he has no real competition for his place. He knows he’s first name on the team sheet every week and his focus is dropping. Today isn’t the first instance of poor composure.

The less about his distribution the better, as well.
Agreed he’s complacent, doesn’t think there’s any way he can be dropped because there’s no one else
Said it a million times and I'll die on the hill saying it again.

Shot stopping - 8/10 - Quality but has the odd tendency to push simple ones back into danger, sometimes it can't be helped obviously.

Everything else - 2/10 - Can't command a box , awful distribution with his feet. Slow at releasing the ball even with his hands for a quick counter. Quiet as a church mouse , looks scared to speak up like a little boy. Looked sluggish off his line for that shot he did eventually save today.

He's your average Championship Goalie. These links with Prem Teams over the last few years will be long gone and if they aren't I'd snap their hands off at any half decent offer if I was KLD.
He won’t play higher than this level

Will agree to disagree. As I said in an earlier post. He does not lack agility (speed of movement or movement of a body part) but his decision making & distribution is at times questionable. But if bashing him for an unsubstantiated weight gain make people feel better then crack on, his biggest area for improvement is confidence and and communication... not sure knee jerk weight abuse helps the lad.
You’re an idiot and don’t understand anything

My concern is if Patto isn't dropped then it sends a message.

You can be off form ( goal v Hull, at least one of the two v Leeds, v Watford.). You can be out of condition, anyone can see he's carrying a bit weight which effects confidence "shall I come off my line, oh may not get to it I'll stay on line to be safe".
Mentally he looked shot after the goal as well.

For his own sake and the teams he needs a break.

Moore may not be better than Patto but for the reasons above RLB should make a change for at least one game.

What about Blondy? Surely he should be given a chance ?

He will if we go up and that would be 2 playoffs he would have been in. He's a 24 year old young keeper and will learn as he goes but as usual some way OTT on here and social media. He's a bloody good keeper but he has to improve his communication there and the command of his box

Blowing a f***ing cyclical gale around me none stop!
aye Hurricane direction for me, fat fat bastard but i am in my 70s, Patto is in his 20s and is a bit thick around the middle for a supposed athlete, too many pies or pints but someone needs to give him a talking to to get professionally fit. he was always a good shot stopper but his distribution is chronically bad he has grown roots to his line so does not come out for corners at all (this maybe what he is told to do) but he is hampered anyway due to there being so many people in his 6 yd box, i just don't think he has the aggressive temperament to be a top class goalie.
I also think that when Moore came in when Patto was injured he was just better at everything, so Patto needs to be rested for a few games.

Posture, cut of the GK top, breeze direction... no doubt he looks heavier now than then but as an athlete ages that is acceptable. If he is over weight and that is affecting his performance in training and on the pitch then I would expect the club to act. I follow our keepers closely, have done for years, was a GK myself & coached by no less than Monty in the 80s at a centre of excellence for a 1st Div Club (so what I know), the errors at Leeds & on Sat were very similar, he needs help and support, half a stone (maybe) makes no odds in comparison to mentality.
Half a stone 'of fat' definitely makes a difference to agility. Diet and lifestyle choices. I.e. drinking excessively in Newcastle also makes a big difference. Mentality levels, mistakes and lapses of concentration can be linked to lifestyle choices and BMI. He does need help and support and dropping him could be the answer. The fact his coach..... Barcherini has moved roles and spent time with the outfield players - means the keepers may not have had the same levels of attention. I would argue in a team that is developing, Patto is the only person who hasn't improved. It's getting to the point where we're expecting a mistake and that's factored into us needing at least 2 goals.

Makes no odds but if we had a poll I'd be voting Patterson. No question he was at fault against Hull and maybe questionable for the Leeds winner. But Moore is not the answer. A good back up keeper was the answer in the summer and we didn't get one. We went for a bloke happy to sit on the bench and prepare for his future as a coach.

Just drop into Katie O Brien's on a Saturday night. Our captain also frequents. Entitled to a social life but in Newcastle.... following defeats..... isn't a great image.

I have never seen either in there. I saw Pritchard and Stewart in there a few years ago after a game, but neither had played (both were injured). I think it was a pre-season home game.

Seen Patterson out on nights out around Whitley Bay a few times. Not exactly party central mind.
